Some conversations need more than awareness. They need a room.

🥃🧠 SIPS & SCIENCE is coming to Edmonton.

A men’s mental health experience exploring the intersection of science, lived experience, advocacy and community.

🎙️ Keynote: Dr. Peter Silverstone @drpetersilverstone
Physician. Neuroscientist. Mental health researcher. Founder & CEO of Zylorion Health.

🏃🏽‍♂️ Featured: Alan Reid @stillenmod22
Endurance athlete, longtime mental health advocate and Movember supporter — sharing his experience with endurance sport, advocacy and running 60 km to raise awareness around mental health.

And while men’s mental health is at the centre of the conversation…

this night is for the community.

Because sometimes the most important conversations start with simply making room for them.

Now… we close the chapter.

4SZN SLAM x THE MOON — 7th Edition: The Finale is our final 4SZN SLAM as we know it, and we want to spend that night with the community that made it possible.

We’re exploring what it could look like to carry the heart of 4SZN SLAM forward as a non-profit focused on supporting the arts, mental health awareness, inclusion, and community connection.

🌙 4SZN SLAM x THE MOON — 7TH EDITION: THE FINALE 🌙

And just like that… we’re preparing for our final 4SZN SLAM. 🥹🖤

Seven editions of poetry, art, music, vulnerability, laughter, connection, and community — and we couldn’t think of a better way to close this chapter than by giving it back to the people who made it possible.

Our 7th Edition & Finale will be completely FREE for everyone. Performers, vendors, artists, creatives, and guests — everyone is welcome. ✨

This will also be my final 4SZN SLAM as I begin stepping back from the event series and making space for the community to take the vision forward.

But this isn’t necessarily goodbye. 🌱

We’re opening the door for anyone who wants to help continue growing these shows and explore the next chapter of what 4SZN SLAM can become — including its transition toward a non-profit focused on supporting the arts, mental health awareness, inclusion, and community.

If you’ve ever wanted to be part of the team, help organize a show, contribute ideas, perform, volunteer, or simply help carry this vision forward, we’d love to hear from you.

📝 The form to express your interest is available on www.patronne.com and in our bio.

And to everyone who has ever been part of this journey — whether you were on the stage, behind the scenes, in the crowd, supporting online, or simply believed in what we were creating…

Thank you. From the bottom of our hearts. 🖤

You helped make 4SZN SLAM what it is, and we’re so excited to see what this next season brings.

🌙 7th Edition. The Finale.
✨ Completely FREE.
🖤 Come celebrate this chapter with us.

There are poets who write beautiful words, and then there are poets who make you feel seen.

Tonight, @sarapoguepoetry performed “The Mad Hatter,” and once again reminded me why I love her work so much. There is something incredibly special about the way she writes. You don’t just listen to her poems—you find pieces of yourself in them.

Her words have a way of reaching into the corners of our hearts, making us feel understood, connected, and a little less alone.

I’m so grateful that our community gets to experience her gift, and I wanted to share this performance with the world because it deserves to be heard.

Thank you, Sara, for continually blessing us with your words, your vulnerability, and your art. ❤️

Thank you for a beautiful night. 🤍

To everyone who came out and supported 4SZN SLAM — thank you.

Whether you purchased a ticket, shared a post, invited a friend, performed, showcased your art, volunteered, sponsored, or simply showed up and filled the room with your energy, we are so grateful for you.

A heartfelt thank you to @themoonyeg for being such an incredible venue and partner. Your support, flexibility, and belief in what we’re building means so much to us.

Thank you to @gmanzz for keeping the evening flowing as our host and helping create such a welcoming atmosphere for everyone in the room.

A special thank you to @ashabnfld for all of the behind-the-scenes support that helped bring the event together.

To our performers, artists, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and audience members — thank you for helping us create a space where people can connect, express themselves, and celebrate creativity together.

After some time away, it feels good to be finding our rhythm again. The love, support, and turnout reminded us exactly why we do this, and we’re excited to keep building that momentum with all of you.

Our next show is July 25th. Tell a friend to tell a friend — we’ll see you there. ✨

We would like to apologize.

Last night’s show was cancelled due to extremely low ticket sales, low turnout, and the severe weather. While the storm certainly impacted attendance, it also led us to have some honest conversations about the future of 4SZN.

After two incredible years, we’ve made the decision that October 17th will be our final event. And will be free to the public as well as any vendors or participants.

This isn’t just an announcement—it’s the story behind everything we’ve built, what it took to make it happen, and why we’ve come to this decision.

We’ve shared it all in an open letter on our blog.
❤️ Please take a few minutes to read it.

Thank you to every artist, vendor, performer, volunteer, attendee, and supporter who believed in two Black women from Alberta with a vision to create something special for our community. And thank you mostly to @themoonyeg for taking a chance on us. We are forever grateful ❤️‍🔥

We’ll see you one last time on October 17th. 🫶🏽
