A year ago I won the Harper’s Bazaar Woman of the Year award for Campaigning.

I’m still in shock a year on, have some more photos you might not have seen. by @patsyestevenson

Thank you so much to my lovely friends and family who came to visit the Women in Art exhibition with me last Saturday at @tap_art_gallery in Chelmsford!

I missed the official opening on the 17th as I was in Morocco on an artist retreat after winning the Women in Art Prize - an incredible experience that I’ll share more about soon! So it was such a joy to be there on the 24th, see my painting hanging in this beautiful space, and spend the afternoon catching up with so many people I love. Thank you for sharing this milestone with me.

And thank you to Phaedra and Paige at TAP Contemporary for making us feel so warm and welcome, especially on a rainy Saturday!

As we walked through the gallery doors, we were immediately welcomed by ‘Vigil’. The thoughtful curation and hanging of the works, the lighting, the atmosphere - everything about the space and the exhibition is beautiful. It was such a pleasure to wander through and spend time with the work of the Women in Art Prize winners and finalists.

It means so much to have ‘Vigil’ included in an exhibition that centres women’s perspectives and ways of shaping the world, and to know that Patsy’s story continues to be told. The conversation around women’s safety remains so important. @patsyestevenson

The Women in Art exhibition closes this Saturday, 31 October, so there are still a couple of days to visit!

📍 TAP Contemporary, Unit 1 Waterhouse Court, Victoria Road South, Chelmsford, CM1 1LN.

It’s a 20 minute train from Stratford, and the gallery is just a 3 minute walk from Chelmsford station. There’s also a cosy pub nearby if you fancy making an afternoon of it!

Do grab a catalogue while you’re there - my beautiful little cousin Cece certainly did! Swipe through to see her very cute introduction to the exhibition.

Thank you again to @gabrielleduploy, @womeninartprize__ @women_in_art__ team, and everyone at TAP Contemporary for all your support and for bringing together such a beautiful exhibition.

Have you been to see the exhibition yet? I’d love to hear what stayed with you. And if you haven’t, consider this your little nudge to go before it closes!

Medical misogyny by @patsyestevenson

‍👩‍👧‍👦🏠 Families belong together.

Yet, the UK's asylum system is forcing families apart.

Over a year ago, the Government suddenly suspended refugee family reunion – one of the only available safe routes.

This overwhelmingly harms women and children with over 92% of refugee family reunion grants given to them before the suspension.

Since then, silence - no update from the Government. Thousands of women and children remain in danger, forcibly separated by hostile asylum policy.

Mothers are being forced to break the promises they made to their children: that they would be reunited, that they would be together again.

No-one should have to endure this pain.

Join our campaign to reunite families, because love doesn't stop at borders, and being safe shouldn't mean being separated from the people you love.

🔗 Please share our video and visit the link in our bio to sign our pledge and join our fight for the reinstation of Refugee Family Reunion.

I had to put my little girl to sleep today.

She got sick very suddenly and we found out that her kidneys had stopped working. She’s fought a bunch of illnesses before, and has lived such a happy life. I’m so grateful to everyone who showed her love over the years. She saved my life in so many ways.

I had her for 14 years, my lil partner in crime.

Rest in Peace Lexy ❤️ by @patsyestevenson

Defenders of the cornell 57 piss me off by @patsyestevenson

I’ve learnt over the past few years to look after my own wellbeing. Now i’m lucky to have a great support network and be able to take time out but please don’t ever look at me and think i’ve got it all figured out because I don’t.

**edit even this post i keep going back and editing by @patsyestevenson

I’m gutted I couldn’t attend the @women_in_art__ awards ceremony to give @abbyhopeskinnerart her award for ‘Vigil’.

It was so well deserved, I am so grateful to Abby for taking the time to hear my story. She is a fantastically talented artist. As someone who cherishes art- this piece means so much to me and through a time when human expression is being stolen and recreated through AI without permission, events like this to celebrate true artistic talent are so important. by @patsyestevenson
