One month to the day of his open heart surgery, Hamlin is back at the racetrack. He is still not 100% but as the saying goes…you can take the boy away from the racetrack, but you cannot take the racetrack out of the boy. I am here with him to make sure he doesn’t over do it…but keeping him home would have been impossible. And we are still thanking God for every that he is here. by @pattihamlin

Good morning friends. We have some news. This morning Kevin Hamlin will under go a quadruple bypass surgery. Long story short, last Friday Kevin was scheduled to have a stint put in for “what looks like a minor blockage”… well not so much…his minor blockage was actually 4 blocked arteries. Cardiac cath was canceled, a ride in an ambulance to Forsyth Medical Center and he was put on the surgery schedule for today at noon. We are both in shock that he walked into Kernersville hospital for an outpatient procedure and then ever changed in a heart beat. It is crazy the we are now 2 hours away from major heart surgery. We realize how lucky we are, every doctor who looks at his chart says he is very lucky to be alive. Crazy!! He has a great team of cardiologists, and Dr Maddsen, his heart surgeon, says he is a great candidate for the surgery. Everyone at the Forsyth Cardiac Institute has been amazing. Hamlin says he’s just ready to get it over with, and start working on getting better Fingers crossed and all prayers are appreciated. Frank (aka Kevin) is ready for the green flag to drop on this race! by @pattihamlin
