Our Skin Is Our Story

“My hands, my skin, tell you the legend of who I am.
So many tales of where I’ve been, and how I got to become who I now claim to be. Behind every scar, there is an untold story of survival...”

Hands, they tell so much of who we are, where we have been. I am in love with the profound and touching stories that they always compel. They make me feel humble of all my blessings, of my own journey. If wrinkles could talk about the past...I am sure we would love each other more, judge less, embrace true compassion for one another. Time...with no exception, leaving a seal in our skin. Reminding us that nothing lasts forever.

Thank you to all my loving friends who I know will leave kind birthday wishes. I feel so very blessed and indeed a very lucky person.
It has been such and exciting journey. I have witnessed in these now 59 years, so many interesting faces of ME. But recently I have been enjoying a new stage; I have become the happiest grandma of two beautiful grandchildren who have filled my life with everlasting joy, hope and laughter.
So cheers for many years more to come. May life keep blessing me with all things good and a luminous and healthy long life to keep rejoicing from the priceless gifts life has granted me.
To those that never get tired of encouraging my journey. To those that have been and have given purpose, light and inspiration to my path for so long: THANK YOU!
Yours Truly,
Patty

Guardians Of Grace
By Patricia Karam

Beneath the arch of ancient skies,
a gentle giant’s wisdom lies.
With trunks like lullabies, they sway,
and guard their young both night and day.

No child walks alone in sand—
each step is held by many a hand.
In silence deep, their hearts still speak,
protecting those who yet are weak.

Through wrinkled grace and watchful eyes,
they teach with love that never dies.
A village forms in every stride,
where care and courage walk beside.

Their strength is soft, their power kind,
a fierceness only love can bind.
For in the herd, we come to see—
what true protection’s meant to be.

In a sense, every work you do is a self-portrait because your paintings always reveal more about you than about your subject. Your experience of something, not the something itself, is the true underlying subject of every work you do.
