I thought I was the only one.

For so long, I convinced myself that every other dancer in the room was effortlessly confident, and I was the only one secretly terrified of not being “good enough” to be there.

The turning point wasn’t learning more complex footwork or fixing my frame.

The turning point was understanding why my brain was screaming danger.

You don’t need to earn your right to enjoy a social dance. You don’t need to be perfect to connect with someone to a song you love.

If you’re tired of overthinking every step and just want to get back to dancing your heart out - you’re in the right place.

Always remember… you belong on the dancefloor.

If you’re ready to get out of your head and back into your body, start here 👇

Comment “RESET” below and I’ll DM you my free guide.

This is my very first zouk video.

It’s not polished, I don’t feel ready and I’m not fully happy with it. I’m sharing it anyway.

Lately it feels like trusting the process is out of fashion.

In a world that rewards speed, who needs the process when you can just hack your way to the result?

I fall into the trap too. I also want to get good, quickly.

But the result is only a small percentage of the experience.

In moments of self-judgement I ask myself: why do you dance? Is it just to be good?

There is gold to be found in figuring it out. The conversations you get to have. The people you get to meet. The qualities in YOU that you get to discover.

To borrow words from @elizabeth_gilbert_writer “maybe it’s not about the output but about who you become by doing the thing. And isn’t it worth finding out?”

And this is the honest truth: I will never be the best dancer in the world. But in the process of figuring it out, I’m becoming a different person.

Trust the process 🫶

Thanks @lau_dalava for being so patient with me 🙏

And thanks to @arthssantos for helping me to surrender and trust myself a little bit more every week ❤️

Alexis has been dancing bachata for 5 years. As he improved, so did the pressure he put on himself, and the judging started to take over the joy.

In the Jack & Jill world it’s so easy to tie your worth to how you perform.

That’s exactly what we’re working on in our sessions. Next clip, we’ll share what we actually did and how this helped 👀

Maybe you've noticed, you're just not enjoying dance the way that you used to.

It might be that you're constantly judging yourself and comparing your progress to everybody else.

Maybe you've just lost the spark you had in the beginning.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone, and it’s absolutely something you can work on. Joy is waiting on the other side.

💬 Send me a DM with “COACHING” to find out how we can work together.

Eternally grateful to you Alexis 😍 Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for doing the work. Thank you for sharing your story 🙏

Stop waiting for proof.

I know it feels scary. Believing the thing you want will happen before you know if it’s even possible. But the clearer you see it in your mind, the easier it is to do the work to get there.

Belief isn’t the opposite of doing the work. It’s what gets you to start.

So if you’re building something that only makes sense to you right now, keep going.

What are you believing in before you can prove it? 👇

When the doctors said “no more heavy lifting,” he said “watch me.” 👀

In this throwback clip, Arthur shares how he chose to rebuild on his own terms - using progressive strength and flexibility to manage chronic pain and push past the limits placed on him.

If you need a little motivation today, this episode is for you (available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube - links in bio)

Being good at dancing and feeling good enough are not the same thing.

You can be the best in the class and still hear that voice saying you don't belong. More classes won't fix it. How you talk to yourself will.

Save this to read for the next time you feel insecure 💙

Gatica breaks down something that’s been bothering a lot of social dancers: Jack and Jill competitions were built to test how well you adapt to a partner you’ve never danced with before. Somewhere along the way, that focus shifted. Now it’s about musicality, showmanship, and performing for the judges and the phones recording every move, instead of actually connecting with the person in front of you.

Disclaimer: this was recorded before the @bachatasocialworldcup and not a comment on this year’s @bachatagenevafestival 🫶

If you competed in Geneva this weekend, the post-comp voice might be loud right now.

The voice might be calling. You don’t have to pick up.

Let it ring. Rest. Be proud of the courage it took to show up.

Save this for the day it gets loud 💙

The never feeling like enough, the self-doubt and the comparison... I get it because I've lived it too.
Glad you're here. Always remember... you belong on the dancefloor.
Drop me a DM, would love to know who you are and why this content resonated with you 😍

“We’re just getting started” is more than a motto; it’s a growth mindset. A daily reminder that building something that outlives you takes consistent effort.

In this deeply honest conversation, we sit down with Jorge Burgos, better known as @ataca_official, one half of the legendary @atacaylaalemanaofficial and co-founder of Island Touch.

Ataca opens up about the true essence of bachata, why the “basic” is being lost, and how social media both built and blurred the dance world.

He shares the mindset behind 20+ years of partnership, what genuine connection really means, where his musicality comes from, and the powerful lesson his father taught him about happiness.

Whether you’re a dancer, an artist, or just love a great story about legacy and staying true to yourself, this one delivers.
