A Sunday road trip to Bristol was the order of the day, as Georgia Nevada, Rhiannon Paige, and Kier’s The Worst Kept Secret Tour rolled into the city, and on Rhiannon’s birthday too!! 🎉

It was a superbly entertaining session of live country music, banter, laughter, and a few tears, as they each performed some of their own songs, then collaborated together for the encore number 🤗

There was even a best kept secret as Laura Aston, audience member for the day, joined the girls on stage for an emotional cover of Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush”! I just love that song since I saw First Time Flyers perform it last year 🥹

A rendition of Happy Birthday filled the room at the end of the show, as a birthday cake, adorned with what looked like a firework, appeared from the beyond, to celebrate Rhiannon being another day older and wiser 🎂

Then it was over to the merch table for chats and sales 💷

I finally got to purchase something from Kier, a wonderful bundle that included t-shirt, tote bag, and CD, duly signed by her 😊

Grabbed a selfie with buddies, Laura and John too, inside the lovely Zed Alley venue 🫶

Only the one video clip on this post as I had decided to live the moment with this show, having seen all three numerous times very recently already, and I truly believe it was the right choice.

Cambridge, next Sunday, for another dose of The Worst Kept Secret Tour ✨

A really special Saturday night in Lichfield Guildhall with @ellesbailey and her band, supported by @jackiebristow ✨

This was the fourth time I have seen Elles perform this year, in four very different venues, and four very separate vibes imo.

This one was emotional. It was joyful. It had a great attentive and engaged audience. And the setlist hit several emotions too 😊

Covering songs from more than just her latest album, "Can't Take My Story Away", there was something for everyone in the room. Elles had taken time to consider what to include in the set, mindful that there were many in the room who had, like me, already seen her before this year. She chose superbly 🔥

Another artist I will never tire from seeing perform live with her full band, including my fave, @dmarrinermusic, who I'll see in her own headline show in December 🫶

Support came from New Zealand, via Nashville, in the form of the beautiful Jackie Bristow, who took the tech blip in her stride, when her guitar amp decided not to comply, and delivered a faultless opening set from then on in, with her guitarist, Sydney, Australia's Mark Punch, who has performed with greats such as Joe Cocker and Olivia Newton-John 🎸

As I said, a brilliant evening of live music entertainment 🥰

@susannahcleggmusic latest album declares that "Good Times Are Coming Our Way" and that definitely arrived on Friday night, on the last night of that debut album UK tour, in Oxfordshire as Susannah and her band, @damonkilcawley (fiddle) and @charliewells_music (bass), performed two great sets of authentic live country music in the @bruernfarms Cafe, separated by a few numbers from @georgiarailroad , which included Damon again and Lil 🤠

In the middle of narrow country lanes, the Bruern Farms Shop and Cafe is not a location one would stumble across easily, and also probably the least you would expect to put on live music entertainment, but they most certainly do. If you live near West Oxfordshire, it is worth keeping an eye on their website for events and workshops.

Make sure you listen to Susannah's new album, and stream, share and add to playlists.

The album is also available on vinyl record! taken in Bruern Farm Shop & Cafe by @paul051982

I know it's a Wetherspoons, and I nearly missed seeing it during my day trip to Deal in Kent, but once I discovered its existence, I just had to go see how the pub chain celebrate the life and work of one of my favourite movie comedians, Sir Norman Wisdom 😊

I even got to meet Norman, way back in the early 1990s when he appeared in a Birmingham bookstore. He signed his VHS video for me, which I still have, but nothing to play it on.

Last Sunday (4 October) was the 16th anniversary of his death 🥺

The pub has a few pictures of Norman on their bar and obviously on the cover of their food menu card, explaining how his name became connected to the pub.

A last-minute arranged Wednesday trip to the West End in London to see Stranger Things: The First Shadow at the Phoenix Theatre, before it closed for good on December 27th, there seemingly no plan to make this one rise from the dead!

A fascinating play, full of brilliant acting, cinematography, and special effects, and slides in nicely before season one of the TV series 🔥

Overpriced ice-cream, but still very nice.

And just had to grab some merch, as well as get my steps in walking around London to see what's on at other theatres and a few landmarks 😊

A super Sunday evening spent in Leamington Spa, where @br00kelaw and her band duo performed a two-set show in the underground live music venue of the @temperancecafe ❤️

Brooke’s latest album, “Naked Heart”, featured heavily in the first set, with more of her discography and a few covers appearing in the second 🥰

The inclusion of “Cowboy Hat”, composed and performed with Savannah Gardner on the album, justified me wearing Savannah’s merc t-shirt for the first set, the anomaly being rectified in the interval with the purchase of my first ever Brooke Law t-shirt, an omission in my wardrobe that I struggle to comprehend, having seen Brooke a couple of times live before this evening 🤠

Proud to have my photograph with Brooke include David, who has survived cancer and heart scares and at the ripe young age of 91 is still going to support live music. Respect!!! 🙌

With my lifestyle, and lack of sleep, I don’t foresee me reaching that age, let alone still be going to gigs! 😂

The wonderful @elliegowersmusic was responsible for the sound tech tonight and did a wonderful job. Ellie will be on her own tour soon, one of her dates being at the Hare and Hounds in Birmingham next month for which I already hold a ticket 🫶

Brooke stated that a new album will be appearing in 2027, so watch her socials for teasers and more information as the months progress 👀
