Highlights from the Impact X Summit in Sydney

The 4th annual Impact X Summit Sydney addressed the possibilities and barriers to achieving a climate-positive future. As a flagship event of Climate Action Week Sydney held at the iconic Sydney Town Hall, IX Summit Sydney 2025 brought together some of the greatest climate visionaries and leaders from across Australia and the world.

Our CEO, Val N. was delighted to open the session focused on COP30, which will be held in Belém do Pará, Brazil, in November.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Tony Gourlay, the CEO of Impact X, for the invitation and for organizing such an impactful event. A special thanks goes to Ambassador Fred Arruda for his video message and to Mara Bún for her continued collaboration with the Australia Brazil Chamber of Commerce.

We also want to recognise all the panel speakers who contributed to the rich discussions. The conversation with our panelists—David Messina, Co-founder & CEO of Rumin8; Marzieh Monfared, PhD, CEO of BAMBuild; John Connor CEO of The Carbon Market Institute; and Renan Arthur Tourinho from Trade and Investment Queensland who is based in Belém and participated remotely at 3 AM—was truly enriching.

We were also pleased to have our ABCC directors in attendance—Christopher Ellis Kamille Dietrich and Paula Cope along with our member Francine Tavares, Ph.D from Conexus. The event featured many important panels, and the overall experience was incredibly valuable in fostering dialogue and collaboration.
