On Monday December 8 2025 @mayorofmontegobay @richardvernon.cllr met with a European media team that has long supported Jamaica’s tourism efforts. They returned to Montego Bay not only to continue promoting our island but to learn firsthand how the city is recovering after Hurricane Melissa. They were accompanied by @paulaspowell from @visitjamaica.

This engagement forms an important step in revitalizing tourism in Montego Bay and further stimulating economic activities across the city. The team is gathering detailed information on the recovery plan so they can help strengthen the message of Jamaica’s resilience and speed up the marketability of the destination.

Mayor Vernon shared the ongoing plans, the progress being made, and the united effort to rebuild our city better than before. Montego Bay remains strong and partners like these help carry our story across the world. taken in St. James Municipal Corporation by @paulaspowell
