"May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds." -Edward Abbey

July 2025 I set out on my biggest adventure by far completely unplanned, as all good adventures should be. Originally supposed to be a road trip, but "man plans and God laughs" has a funny way to push you onto a new path. It's hard to put enough words into a small caption to describe the entire experience and even harder to only choose 20 photos to show it. Along the way I found a new kindling of human kindness I thought had not existed anywhere, adventurous strangers who helped extend my path from the Rocky's to Yosemite and so on; without these people this trip wouldn't have been nearly as fun and lively so if anyone I met along the way is reading this THANK YOU. Each day I woke up to a new place I'd never been, with no plan on where I was going to be. The only thing I knew is that I had to make it to Yosemite, even if it meant walking all the way there. The landscapes I went through along the way had a hypnotizing way about them that put me in a trance and I couldn't look away, even the simple unnamed uninhabited deserts pictured me paintings I couldn't dream of. Even now I still miss the nomad life I loved for two weeks in the mountains and deserts, but now I have plenty of trips ahead of me and hopefully each one will top the last so don't expect me to stop or slow down anytime soon. While I still have blood pumping through my legs, I will always get to moving and climbing the next mountain, even if it's a hill. Thanks for reading :) by @paulbertz
