Scorching presentation in the morning Milano sun from Brioni, showing its inimitable way with micro-light tailoring and overshirts. Loved the suede looks, which apparently is a cashmere-suede, and the tonal tuxes. by @paulcroughton

Simon Holloway is really hitting his stride at Dunhill now and this collection, inspired by British totems of elegance such as Roger Moore, Lord Snowdon and Lucien Freud, is a real beauty. As much as the fabrics and colours were exceptional, for me it was the little details — It was Freud who gave Simon the scarf-spiration for how to tie these silk/cashmere numbers, as he explains. Then the pops of blue, the trousers with such elegant drape, the tonal looks, a great eight-button blazer made up in a special Fox fabric. It was all very impressive. The moodboard set the tone, and you can tell he’s having fun with the evening wear, with the card insignia on scarves, slippers and even done as a subtle jacquard on a jacket. And swipe to the end for a little vintage Cartier inspo too. This is grown-up dressing for sophisticated, stylish men. Bravo. by @paulcroughton

Before we get into the seemingly endless procession of new watches coming out of Watches and Wonders here in Geneva over the next few days, my first stop was the @audemarspiguet exhibition celebrating 150-odd years of watch making. A quick run-thru of my favourite vintage pieces on display. Digital jump hour from 1929. World traveller from 1943. Self-winding tourbillon from 1986. Complete calendar, 1953. Monopusher chronograph in steel, 1994. And finally, the red chronograph from 1937. taken in Geneva, Switzerland by @paulcroughton

For the Spring issue, Elite Traveler dives into the world of collecting. @aleks_cvetkovic explores the psychology behind what drives us to amass treasures and trinkets, and we step inside the worlds of five obsessives, getting a look at their prized possessions – from Pokémon cards to Jurassic fossils.

We drop into Miami’s Art Basel to visit Villa Zegna, venture to Japan where @godfreydeeny sits down – or rather runs around Tokyo – with LVMH Fashion Group’s new CEO, Pietro Beccari, and @laurarysman finds out what truly matters to @plan_c_official founder and creative director Carolina Castiglioni.

Plus, we set out on a choppy voyage to the lesser-known eastern side of Antarctica, retracing the path of an ill-fated explorer; @markc_oflaherty shares his guide to Japan’s northernmost island; a case is made for Brazil’s hippie haven Trancoso; and we traverse Italy’s best golf courses by train aboard Accor’s new @ladolcevitaorientexpress.

Milan shopping guide — two new(ish) stores to visit next time you’re in town. First, the stunning new lair of @umitbenan_himself which perfectly encapsulates the universe he has built around his eponymous brand over the years. The boutique is beautifully rendered, where everything from the light fixtures to the stairs to the bar and the music system complements the seemingly simple but technically sophisticated clothing available in ultra-refined fabrics. As an example, that coat, from the forthcoming FW26 collection, is ridiculous, like a hug from the teddy bear you had when you were three. (There are a few other shots from the showroom with the new collection in there too.) And then the new iteration of @fortela_, in a huge new store that showcases the brand’s vintage aesthetic influenced by the life-long collecting and travels far and wide of @alessandrosquarzi. Two very different stores, two different proprietors, but similar obsessions with materials and style. Go see them. by @paulcroughton

All about the coat. Cut by @frednieddu from heavy @foxbrothers1772 cloth and made up @taillour_ltd a few years ago, it’s the polar opposite of the light spongy overcoats that many of the Italian labels were showing in Milan last week. It weighs the same as about three sheep, could probably stop a bullet, but is deliciously warm and comforting with the collar up against the elements.
