I’m back at @hotpizzastudio next month, teaching printmaking with some adults! Might you be one? Starts September 15, for seven weeks. Course description below, come have some fun.
🍕 🍕🍕
This beginner-to-intermediate class introduces students to printmaking using rubber and lino blocks to create prints on paper and textiles (and tea towels!). Through guided demonstrations, students learn safe tool handling, registration, reduction and multi-colour printing, stamp patterning, and carbon-transfer techniques. Participants will develop a cohesive print series and create functional and decorative pieces while gaining the skills and confidence to continue printmaking independently. Taught by the amazing Paul Dotey! Runs September 15, 22, 29; October 6, 13, 20, and 27. At 134 Osler Street location. by @pauldotey

A wee reduction print I demonstrated for my Thursday night printmaking crew at @hotpizzastudio. It’s a method of making a multi colour print using just one printing surface. I carved and printed the fishbowl in blue, then kept carving until all I was left with was the two fish, and then I printed again in orange. As long as my registration is lined up, the fish and the bowl will fall into place. by @pauldotey
