Up in the Taif Mountains! ⛰️🌅🐒🇸🇦After visiting the spectacular Wabah Crater 🌋 in the mid-40°C heat 🥵, what a contrast it was to drive up the winding mountain roads of Taif and enjoy a much cooler 30°C while watching the sunset. 😍Waking up the next morning to an even cooler 23°C, with panoramic mountain views glowing in the morning light, and even a few baboons 🐒, was the perfect end to another unforgettable weekend of adventure. 👌 Saudi Arabia continues to amaze me with its incredible diversity—from volcanic craters to cool mountain landscapes, all in the same weekend trip. 😎 #Taif #SaudiArabia #VisitSaudi #MountainViews #Sunset by @paulexploring

Wabah Crater – Saudi's largest volcanic crater!🌋🇸🇦Last weekend I flew to Taif ✈️ and made the 2.5-hour drive to visit the spectacular Wabah Crater. 😮 Formed by ancient volcanic activity, this massive crater is over 2km wide and more than 250m deep, with a striking white salt flat covering its floor. 😍 The surrounding landscape was just as fascinating, with black volcanic rock fields, vast desert plains, white salt flats that almost looked like snow, and even camels roaming freely. 🐪Another incredible example of the diverse landscapes to explore here in Saudi Arabia. 😎#WabahCrater #SaudiArabia #VisitSaudi #Taif #Volcano by @paulexploring

Gazing into the summer haze of Saudi's "Grand Canyon" 🏜️⛰️🇸🇦One of the highlights of an action-packed weekend in NEOM was returning to Al-Shiq, often referred to as Saudi Arabia's "Grand Canyon." 😍Carved by erosion over thousands of years, its towering cliffs plunge dramatically into the canyon below, creating one of the region's most spectacular landscapes. 😮 Even with the summer haze, the scale of this place is always impressive. 👌 #SaudiArabia #NEOM #GrandCanyon #DiscoverNEOM #AdventureSaudi by @paulexploring

Back hiking in Saudi Arabia! 🥾⛰️🇸🇦This past weekend, I completed an 11.5 km hike with a 560 m ascent, rewarded with incredible views over the Red Sea (Gulf of Aqaba), with even Egypt visible in the distance. 😍🌊What a contrast these rugged desert mountains are to the lush green rainforests of British Columbia 🇨🇦 that I was hiking through just last month!Every trail has its own kind of beauty. 🤍 👌 #NEOM #SaudiArabia #HikingAdventures #DesertMountains #DiscoverNEOM by @paulexploring

Family, milestones, and making memories 🤍🇨🇦My recent trip home to Canada was filled with special moments and reasons to celebrate. 🎂 There was a combined early celebration for my 40th birthday, my dad's 80th birthday, and my brother-in-law Janne's 50th birthday, as well as my sister Juliana's bridal shower. 🎉One of the most meaningful parts of the trip was having 5 of my 6 sisters together in one place, along with 13 of my 20 nieces and nephews — something that rarely happens when our family is spread across 🇨🇦 Canada, 🇺🇸 the United States, 🇫🇮 Finland, and with me having lived in 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia these past few years.Grateful for these celebrations and the opportunity to spend time together.
