IT’S TIME TO IGNITE!

We wrap up the 2024 Ignite Film Festival with our third and final fantastic selection of Independent short films on Thursday 27th of June…

Our Fifth film of Day 3 is the stunning short:

‘In Absence’ – Drama Short – Director: Paul Nevison

Synopsis: Family fault lines are exposed when the sudden death of a beloved wife and mother splinters a close-knit religious family. A quiet son on the threshold between childhood and adolescence, must hold together the fraying threads of his family.

Ignite Judging Panel Notes: Posing the question: are family bonds stronger than overwhelming grief, this incredible film gives a very raw and very real account of family trauma and it’s many facets. Grief is such a difficult subject to get right in a short film and it has been done with such beautiful subtlety. This is outstanding filmmaking!

‘In Absence’ is nominated for:

Best Score
Best Drama Film
Best Ensemble Cast
Short Of The Festival

We cannot wait to share this with you.
