This is my philosophical artistic contribution to the AI vs human debate. If I could push a button and all AI would cease to exist, I would push it. I have lived enough life to see that technology and money usually win. Plus there are some great uses for AI.
Ultimately this technological wave can be a calling to be more creative and more human. So I made an an(d)alog amplifier out of a big red oak beam for my IPhone 17 to play music. I left some chainsaw marks, some gashes from the chisel splintering wood deeper than intended and I cut the shape from a deep intuitive side of myself.
I am grateful that God created us with with such a unique creative ability! Let’s use it.

I am 50…
Time is such a surreal thing to experience. This past year has been fulfilling, rewarding, challenging and precious. @brittanyrisse and I have been married for 10 years! It’s the best thing ever. We have land, animals, fruit trees and a phenomenal community of people surrounding us. Baby J is two years old and she literally brings joy to everyone. She is smart, loving and an explorer. Brittany had two miscarriages this past year and we were broken and prayed and cried.
My body is holding up pretty well. It has given me several signals this past year to pay attention to my diet. Sickness is a great teacher. I had a goal of doing 50 pull up’s in a row by my birthday. I got to 33 pull up’s in a row. Will try to reach the goal within this next year.
I am missing teeth and I don’t smile like I used to because I’m self conscious about my appearance. May get some implants. Probably good for my pride to be missing some teeth. I need to lose 12 pounds. Probably need surgery on my knee but being proactive with care.
My precious daughter Kalee is married to a wonderful husband named Marcus. We’re neighbors. They have a beautiful daughter, Valerie, and I became a grandfather! Cannot describe how cool it is to have my daughter and granddaughter playing together.
My relationship with God is solid. I have recently seen fruit from things I’ve been praying about for years. Brings tears to my eyes and joy to my heart.
I have worked at @hayhurstbrothers for the past 8 years. As a company we read a chapter of the Bible every morning. Almost read through the Bible twice now. I work with the best group of guys ever. We’ve gone through the valleys and have sight on some peaks. We build really beautiful homes. We are working with @adamsenn on some amazing projects that will change the trajectory of our company.
Still building furniture on the side and getting into creating wood art.
Got to travel to Africa with @voltagecoffeeproject last month. Give them a follow! The trip changed me. Still processing how.
Got to record with @blurrycreatures @natehenry @thelukerodgers in Franklin. Not sure if/when the episode will come out but it was fun.

Brittany and I have had 3 miscarriages. It’s
not something we’ve shared publicly. The last one was a month ago and it was brutal.

Kris Powers lost a baby a day before its due date…Christmas Eve. She shares what it was like the days, months and years after. The battles, the shock, the psychological ups and downs. Trusting in God while simultaneously questioning His will. The process of healing physically, emotionally and spiritually. Can there be wholeness after the loss of a child? There is hope, tragedy and beauty in the Powers story. Much like Job there were blessings that followed the heartache and loss.

We get to live in the mystery and tension of undertanding topics like this, which are the hardest things to experience in life.

Share this with someone who has had a miscarriage or lost a child. I know it helped our hearts heal.

Raw, minimal production, here Is where I am. My current belief and understanding of healing. Healing… to be made whole. Some stories in this podcast. Getting healed by a guy with sound and energy. Healing during a colonic. Western medicine for debilitating earache. Faith based healing. Storing trauma in our body. Friend dying when I truly had faith he would be healed. Jesus = ultimate healing.

The episodes after this will usually have a guest. Quality of sound, lighting and environment will all get more professional as I continue to record. Felt the need to take the first step instead of waiting for perfection. This whole thing will be a process of growth. God had already opened some amazing doors.

Would love honest feedback. Even if you disagree!

I am starting my own show called “The Healing Podcast”. Episodes will be starting this month. I will explore the subject of healing through many lens. Christain faith based healing, western medicine, naturopathic, healing with food, healing the soil, healing diabetes, healing c@ncer and healing relationships. So many angles.
I am passionate about the subject and have a diverse range of experiences to draw from my past.
I will get more professional with each episode. I will be looking for experts on the subject of healing or testimonies from peoples lives. Tag anyone I should connect with on this podcast.
Also looking for someone who can help me get each episode produced, edited, uploaded to multiple platforms, etc…

Happy Birthday Babe! This past year has been nothing short of amazing! Baby J, Kalee and I love you sooooo much! You are grace in action. Your quiet wisdom has encouraged me on so many levels. Your lack of frustration in the face of sleepless nights and with a body that’s constantly giving shows your natural posture towards motherhood and I couldn’t be prouder. If Baby J could talk there would be many more thank you’s and I love you’s! The best is yet to come!

We are beyond blessed to have a beautiful baby girl! Josephine Anne was born on Feb 1st. Brittany was so strong and she is an amazing mother! Baby J is giving us less sleep but hearts filled with joy! Praise God!
We are beyond grateful for all friends and family who have helped out with gifts, meals, time and prayer! For real. Our community is amazing.
PS we may post pictures of our precious child when she gets older. There are some weird things that can happen on social media and just want to protect her. Have a great Sunday! by @paulrisse
