Watched The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist last night. Really enjoyed it.

It gives the good and the bad of AI a fair hearing, which is rarer than it should be.

What I came away with: none of us can control where this goes. What we can control is how we respond to it and the choices we make.

Worth a watch this weekend.

It’s my birthday today, and I’m marking it by starting something new.

When I tell people I work in AI, I almost always get the same questions: What does this mean for me? Am I cooked? What will my kids do?

I’ve been answering them informally for years, for other people and for myself. Now I’ve made it a proper practice.

The Horizon Plan is a three-month coaching program for established professionals who want a clear three to five year plan instead of a background worry about AI.

Anthropic studied how AI is actually being used across 800 occupations. The headline isn't "AI is taking jobs." It's that AI is taking on the production of work: writing code, entering data, drafting first-pass analysis.

The judgement is still ours. Deciding what matters, weighing the trade-offs, owning the call.

Unemployment isn't rising faster in exposed jobs. But the entry door is narrowing, and that's worth watching. Junior roles are where judgement gets built.
