This 2nd round of #75Hard was the harder of the two...much harder.

And with it came lessons, ones I thought I’d already learned but quickly realized were in need of strengthening.

Deliberation was the most difficult of them all.

Many a time I found myself deliberating, listening to that inner bitch voice, the expert negotiator, the one that knows exactly what you like best and dangles that very thing in front of you when you know you should be doing the exact opposite.

Every moment I gave credence to that voice, every moment I allowed myself to deliberate, I could feel myself waning.

More time was wasted with all the back and forth than actually doing what needed to be done.

I need to emphasize that last point once more, yes it’s that important: MORE time was wasted with the back and forth than actually doing what needed to be done. I only truly grasped how much when reflecting back.

It’s as they say, hindsight is 20/20.

Here’s the deal, we’re wired to survive, and the inner bitch has a PhD in that very thing; that’s its primary objective, by keeping you soft, complacent, doing only the bare minimum to get by, it ensures survival to the next day.

The only solution that I found worked was to pivot immediately. Before the voice got any stronger, before all the very valid reasons popped up, to take action in that very moment.

A lesson I’m still working on, and the one that needs the most sharing is this: take action, now.

I had the distinct privilege and honour of visiting 1st Phorm HQ last week.

HQ is something truly special; both as a headquarters and most especially because of the people that make it so.

I already recognize I won’t be able to fully capture my experience into words, @getjickiwithit saw how baffled I was while I was there...at least a half-dozen of those moments.

Here’s a few takeaways:

The very first thought you have as you pull-up to HQ is ‘holy shit’...then you crane your neck over slightly and see Building 2 and 3.

The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the 1st Phorm Core Values that everyone at the company operates from....you’re also greeted by some warm smiles and a Porsche GT3 cup car, but that’s for later.

The energy there is very real, and it’s incredible.

Everyone is rowing in the same direction, and the longer you spend at HQ, the more evident that is.

It isn’t all rainbows, some days are certainly harder than others, but everyone chooses to be there.

The little details really do matter, and I had the opportunity to clock onto a handful!

My three favourite spots were: the gym, the locker room, and the lecture hall.

The story behind the US Flag hanging in the gym was one I wasn’t aware of, and even more awe-inspiring now that I do.

Everyone at 1st Phorm are the same in person as they are online; authentic, genuine, and they care.
