Every 6 hours in Scotland, someone dies of a preventable drug related death. We have the worst drug death rate in Europe & without action it will only get worse. That's why I have launched my Bill consultation in @scotparl to establish Overdose Prevention Centres. Find out more here: https://www.pauljsweeney.com/membersbill by @paulsweeneymsp
It was great to join @britishtransportpolice in the Parliament last week. Their Think Again campaign challenges violence against women and girls across our railway networks. 📱 You can text 61016 to report any non-emergency incidents. by @paulsweeneymsp
Good to be out campaigning in Kelvindale this morning with the @glasgowlabour team, @paulsweeneymsp, and @cllrjamesadams 💬 Speaking to residents, listening to local concerns and discussing this week’s Budget and the opportunity for change at next year’s City Council elections 🌹🗳️ by @paulsweeneymsp
Brilliant result for Glasgow. I've been campaigning for funding to support the expansion of the SEC to bring more international conferences to our city over the last five years. This investment will help move the SEC modernisation project forward. by @paulsweeneymsp
Casework win 👏 I recently got in touch with a property firm on behalf of a constituent who had been facing ongoing issues with their flat. After intervention from my office, the constituent received a £300 rent rebate. I recently got to see the @glasgowgreenstationstones, currently in storage at @west.beer 🪨🍺 Previously used as part of an artwork by Douglas Gordon, the stones are now set to be reimagined as part of a new event space at @westonthegreen An exciting opportunity to give these stones a new lease of life while preserving a piece of the city’s heritage! #glasgow #glasgowlife #railway #scotland #beer by @paulsweeneymsp
📣 I raised concerns with Glasgow City Council about the unauthorised alterations to 219 Sauchiehall Street, which appears to have been installed without the necessary listed building or conservation area consent. I'm pleased that the Council has now opened a planning enforcement investigation into the vape shop frontage. by @paulsweeneymsp
Today is the one year anniversary of the fire at my flat. I’m still in temporary accommodation. Yesterday I was feeling blue and my best friend phoned and that cheered me up. I feel sad every time I hear of a building on fire. Thinking of Stuart and Irene today: Rest in Peace. And my dear neighbours who have been through a lot. Today I did some graphics for the Winter Gardens AGM meeting. Why don’t you come along and support this amazing community regeneration project of Scotland’s largest glasshouse? #architecture #springburn #communitysupport #regeneration #phoenix by @paulsweeneymsp
📮I've written to Ofcom following serious concerns from the CWU about Royal Mail's performance and the growing pressures facing postal workers. Consumers, businesses, communities and postal workers deserve confidence that the current deterioration will not continue. We need action to protect this vital service and the workers who keep it running. by @paulsweeneymsp
The decline of Glasgow's city centre isn’t inevitable, it’s the result of SNP cuts that have left our council stretched to breaking point. We need to restore Glasgow’s budget, invest in frontline services, and get Glasgow cleaned up. by @paulsweeneymsp
Speaking to @mattchorley on @bbc5live about @andy.burnham's speech at @nclanarkshire in Motherwell and about why @fare.scot in Easterhouse is such a good example of how we can empower communities to help our young people to realise their potential. #glasgow #scotland #burnham #politics #glasgowlife by @paulsweeneymsp
Casework win 👏 A constituent recently got in touch with ongoing damp and mould issues at their property. After intervention from my office, the property firm installed new windows to tackle the problem.
