POSTS STORIES REELS

This Mother’s Day carried emotions I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully put into words.

For the first time in my life, I visited my mom on Mother’s Day with flowers for her grave in my hands. At the very same time, I was bringing flowers to my wife as she celebrated her very first Mother’s Day with our baby girl, Ariella.

Three months after losing my mom, life somehow gave me another version of love to hold onto. In the middle of grief, I got to watch you become a mother. And honestly, watching you with Ariella has healed parts of my heart you don’t even realize were broken.

I see the way you hold her, comfort her, stay awake for her, love her endlessly, and put her before yourself every single day. I see the patience, the exhaustion, the sacrifice, and the overwhelming love you pour into our daughter. And every day, I fall even more in love with you because of it.

Ariella could not have been blessed with a better mother. And I could not have been blessed with a better partner to walk through life, loss, love, and parenthood beside. I am so unbelievably proud of you.

And while this day hurt deeply without my mom here, I know her love lives on through the family she raised and the love she taught us to give.

To my mom, I miss you more than words will ever explain.
To my sister, watching you raise my three nieces with so much love is beautiful.
And to my wife, thank you for giving me the greatest gift in the world: our daughter, and a love strong enough to carry me through even the hardest seasons of life. ❤️ by @paultex_

I Found Drive In A Hopeless Place (Rihanna?)

From The beginning of the pandemic until about one year into it, the world was a mess. I was forced to have to train at home with little to no equipment and for those that may not know me, I’m an all or nothing type of dude (I know, it’s got it’s pros and cons)…
I got complacent and simply replaced my training routine with how many Takis snacks I could shove down my pie hole.

Eventually I started getting back on a home routine and one night my friend @andrewyeay asked me to train at his home gym with him. We lifted and caught up and at one point he said “you USED TO look insane”. He meant no harm saying it, and I took zero offence because he was right! - BUT, it lit a fire under me that day. I’m fine with “used to” when I know I’m passed the point of being able to get to the level I was once at. The reality though, is that I know I can surpass it and I was not living to my potential. He told me what I knew in my heart and it started a spark which turned into a flame, which grew into a full blown forest fire!

Here I am about 1 year after that and I’ve hit a new high in my physique!

Your limits are exactly that, YOUR LIMITS…

Your potential is what you believe it is.

If you want it, you’ll get it.

If you need help to get there, drop me a DM or tap the link in my bio…

What sparks you up?

Happy International Girlfriend Day!

We often look at our significant others as a compliment to ourselves in terms of the good things (fun things). For example, if you both like working out or playing video games, etc. Those pieces are important, but it’s the part of your significant other that help to make you a better person that truly makes the difference. I’m a pretty stubborn Portuguese dude so having to work on flaws is not really a strong suit for me. Ignoring them is much more my style! Thankfully (I guess) I have a partner that doesn’t let me ignore them and instead encourages a better version of me to come about! I appreciate @brittanytavares_ for this even though it’s not always easy for me. The working out and the video games is still more fun though! Hahaha

Normalizing and glorifying working together in all ways in a relationship is the way to more smiles, better relationships, and unbound love.

PS. I was joking about international girlfriend day fellas! No need to call for emergency flowers…

😴Tired Is In The Mind

I have never been an early person. I’m awake late into the morning hours because a lot of my research, website work, client work, etc. revolves around writing and research projects which I need uninterrupted consecutive hours for.
Back in my university days I remember my roommates asking, “How the heck do you work 20-30 hours per week, train 5 days per week, and maintain full time status in university and are still awake longer than I am?” I never really knew how to answer because I never internalized that schedule as, “Too much work”. Instead, I focussed on what keeping that regimen did for me…

✅ Training = Health

✅ Work = Money

✅ School = Education & Future Opportunities

My mentality has always been, if you can reach further, then you MUST reach further. Living to your potential is the true key to happiness. This is why I love sports so much, specifically those that involve athletes that leave everything on the field, in the octagon, on the rink, etc. Win or lose, there are no regrets or excuses when you know that you did everything in your power to reach your potential. Respect is earned from doing all you can!

This involves a strong mentality that is always striving to become better in all aspects. I’m in that journey and I’m not perfect, of course…BUT I strive to be more perfect each day. This accumulation of drive and ambition is what keeps me motivated and the strongest repellant to the word, “Tired” in all of its contexts.

❗️Exception To This: Hosting Easter and eating wayyyy too many carbs (I did say I’m not perfect at this right? Haha)

⁉️What keeps you motivated?

🤔Who is The Real Me?

For those of you that know me, have lived with me, and/or hang out with me on a regular basis - you’ll look at this photo and realize that this is an accurate depiction of me on a daily basis.

For those that may only know me from social media, you’re probably thinking that I live in the gym.

The reality is that my time is split about 50% on my laptop and phone, and 50% in the gym (my home away from home).

I have always been a huge computer and tech nerd so I spend my time on my laptop and phone for work (our marketing clients and the clients we coach in fitness and nutrition), but I also spend time reading health research, watching UFC, watching soccer (PS. Did you see Portugal just squeaking past Turkey today?), and of course random YouTube video rabbit holes.

Once my day is finished, I head to the gym and then back home for a movie if there is time, or more of what I did during the day.

My goal is to be free from tech on weekends and get out into nature. I purchased a trail bike for this reason and expect I’ll be spending quality time cycling this summer!

💥Who do you trust with your exercise, diet, and supplement plans?

Many of you know that for years I worked at a supplement store and was competing at the national level in bodybuilding. I was in teachers college, working at a supplement store, training for nationals, and making exercise, diet, and supplement plans for many people.

💪🏼 How Do You Grow Your Calves?

Being blessed by being 5’3’’ has made it so that I have spent more time than usual on my, “tippy toes”. That’s it, I apologize for all of you that were expecting a detailed training protocol… 🤣🤣

All Jokes aside, coach @newman_muscle @newman_nutrition has always told me that I can train calves every single day so long as I don’t go all-in on them every day otherwise I wouldn’t be able to walk! I personally do weightless calf raises (both seated and standing) 3x per week and then do weighted ones 2x per week. I focus on maximum range of motion and willing the blood to fill them up like balloons! The mind-muscle connection for me is the key to most of my lifts, but it’s especially used when I train my calves.

How often do you train your calves?

💪🏼 Dedication > Everything

I’ve found that people often ask how I transform so quickly. Those that know me know that I’m very much all or nothing so staying on track is key for me! Life, however, happens and sometimes I raid the cupboards more than I should, and work longer than I should which leads to skipped gym sessions. This can spiral and lead to having to get back to hard work.
So, back to the answer to how I can transform so quickly….drumroll….

**DEDICATION**

If you are dedicated, want to make a change, or want to get to a new level, please DM me! I have something coming real soon that will provide all of the tools necessary for you to transform and elevate to new levels. All you need to have first is dedication. I’ll take care of the rest!

🍋How To Turn Lemons Into Lemonade?

What I really admire is people that are able to always look on the bright side of any situation. What I admire most, however, is those that actually make positive action to offset the bad that is happening (whether it be in the world at large, or to themselves personally).

Companies like @pandemicapparel__ are really extra special because they make so much clothing and various accessories that everyone can relate to during these times. The best part is that their clothing is not just for a laugh, but is actually very high quality. If you’re looking for the gift of good quality laughter, check them out!

Life is ultimately what you make out of it. Being able to laugh, adapt, learn, and continue to grow both personally and professionally is the name of the game. Any business that shows this has my support forever.
