"I used to bemoan the fact that I’d never get to work with Humphrey Bogart or Spencer Tracy or John Garfield or Charles Laughton. Then one day I woke up and realized I had Benicio Del Toro. If I were a movie screen, each year I would make a national holiday celebrating Benicio Del Toro and thank him for showing up and blessing me with soul, humor, charisma, and mystery.

I have had the pleasure of working with Benicio twice. My time with him in El Paso, Texas, making 'One Battle After Another' is the highlight of my career. There isn’t a moment from that experience that I don’t remember and cherish. My man is as funny as he is deep. He’s as wide as the world and as vast as the ocean. PTA & Joachim Trier with their Oscars at the 98th Academy Awards. Trier’s "Sentimental Value" won Best International Feature Film, Norway’s first in the category.

PTA has long championed Trier’s work, especially his collaborations with Renate Reinsve in "Sentimental Value" and "The Worst Person in the World":

“A few years back, Joachim Trier did the world a favor and introduced us to Renate Reinsve. So when superfans like me heard Joachim and Renate were reuniting, there was lots of jumping up and down. Renate’s made-for-the-movies face and talent will take anyone’s breath away. I’ve seen her do things on-screen that make my stomach drop and blood pressure rise. She’s a gift from movie heaven, and Joachim and his co-writer Eskil Vogt know how to provide her with material worthy of her talent.” - PTA

“Sinners” & “One Battle After Another,” both distributed by Warner Bros., received a combined $30M Oscars campaign push, split evenly between the two films.
