My friend Baraka is one of the kindest, most passionate, and most creative people I know. Through his @notevil events and music as @frankiejaxnomad, he’s nurtured an incredible community of innovative talent here in Los Angeles and recently in Portland. He’s one of the first people that comes to mind when I think of someone who’s completely invested in what he does for the art and the friendships created from that. Anyone who has met or befriended him can attest to that. Last week, he was detained by I.C.E. thugs and is currently being held in Washington state. His partner Bailey has created a GoFundMe for legal fees and bills while they navigate this horror. We’re all worried sick, and we want our friend home safe as soon as humanely possible. I’ve included a link to the GoFundMe in my bio. Please donate if you’re able and spread the word. by @paulunits

It’s been a long time coming, but I’m excited to announce this fundraiser compilation I helped put together for @coaxialarts is finally available for purchase on Bandcamp! All sales will go directly to Coaxial to help us continue to provide a space for art of all kinds in Los Angeles. This compilation features a diverse collection of musicians who’ve performed over the years at Coaxial, with sounds ranging from noise to hip-hop to avant-rock to techno to modular synth to almost everything else under the sun. Huge thanks to all who contributed, and a huge thanks to @totality_________ for the amazing artwork and @_oppositional for the mastering. Link in bio. by @paulunits

Straight up the best Sissy Spacek set I’ve seen yet (first four slides). Absolutely nasty and unrelenting. Circuits instead of strings. No remorse. Lots of other sick grind and grind-adjacent acts on tap too, special shout to Blood Stained Concrete’s sick triple-guitar attack (slides 9 & 10). Nice to see Five Star Bar back in action too. #losangeles by @paulunits

LOS ANGELES 11/14/26

I booked this show in conspiracy with @paulunits and @coaxialarts for my old pals @lastbandintheworld who are releasing their new record "Potent Desperation."

It will be a night of synth driven aggression with @signalbleach and @cvrse_synth supporting. Come out and get your face melted by synthesizers!

Got to go to a magical evening with Robyn Hitchcock and a full band recently here in LA. I was mostly (almost solely) aware of his time in the Soft Boys (Underwater Moonlight is an all-time fav of mine, an absolutely perfect album) and have been meaning to explore his solo catalog. This was probably the best way to get indoctrinated along with some Soft Boys classics for good measure! And who else can cover Floyd and the Beatles with such ease? The “All You Need Is Love” b/w “She Loves You” crowd singalong at the end of the night was something special. We’re lucky to have Robyn with us during these times. by @paulunits

Was initially a little skeptical when I heard about the Cabaret Voltaire tour since Richard is no longer with us, but Stephen and company really brought it splendidly. Sad that Chris Watson was unable to make the stateside shows, but it was wonderful nonetheless. #losangeles taken in The Bellwether by @paulunits

Raspberry and her siblings were rescued on May 5th, 2023. Which means my little sweetie has recently turned 3! This incredible creature makes my life worth living everyday. Eternally grateful to @del.gato.rescue for connecting us! I love my snuggly fuzzball with all my heart. by @paulunits
