„The Cost of Loving“ wurde geschaffen, um sichtbar zu machen, wie moderner Menschenhandel sich zeigen kann und wie wichtig Prävention ist. Der Film unterstützt damit direkt das Ziel der Stadt Augsburg, Kriminalität vorzubeugen, indem wir über ein sensibles Thema aufklären, Dialog fördern und ein Bewusstsein schaffen, das zu einem solidarischen Miteinander beiträgt.

Die gesamte Produktion wurde in Augsburg und Umgebung realisiert. Produktionsvorbereitung, Dreharbeiten und Postproduktion fanden bewusst regional statt. Kleinere Sequenzen, insbesondere die First und Second Account Witnesses für die In Universe Produktion, wurden mit unserem Partnerstudio in Los Angeles gedreht.

Ein weiterer Kernpunkt des Films ist Integration. Cast und Crew vereinen Menschen, die selbst gerade durch herausfordernde Situationen gehen. Darunter Künstlerinnen und Künstler aus Israel und der Ukraine, eine Schauspielerin mit Schwerbehinderung und aus dem Autismus Spektrum sowie Talente aus Integrations und Ausbildungsprogrammen.

Uns war wichtig, Vielfalt zu leben und Teilhabe zu ermöglichen. Der Film steht damit auch für Barrierefreiheit, Sichtbarkeit und Chancengerechtigkeit.

„The Cost of Loving“ verbindet globale Perspektiven mit tiefem lokalem Engagement und zeigt, wie Kunst Verantwortung übernehmen kann.

Das war als Team unser erstes Projekt mit zwei Studios als Partner um die Szenen umzusetzen. Production Design wurde von Todor Barganov und Anton Cobb umgesetzt.

How much are we really willing to pay to hold each other accountable? Just putting the question out there.

We submitted our film to @festivaldecannes to have our world premiere.

The Cost of Loving was created as an artistic response to the Call to Action issued by the Inter-Agency Coordination Group against Trafficking in Persons (ICAT), confronting the growing threat of human trafficking amid global humanitarian crises and armed conflicts.
