this might be for you if: you’re a magical forest fairy disguised as an adult, or you’re into weird questions, or you’re feeling heavy with the weight of the world.

it’s both Dalia and Sylvia’s first date, and my first time creating something that feels *so* intimate to me. creating has been challenging because i’m juggling a lot of big questions lately, but this comic allowed me to see those questions outside of myself, and it felt like having a deep chat i very desperately needed with two characters that mean a lot to me. idk. i’m not usually super proud of my work but i think this comic is very pretty and you should give it a go. it’s also super cheap. okay! lots of love! thanks for being here and doing your best in these weird, difficult times. i see you. bye!! by @pautipeep

i couldn’t find the words to describe this feeling, so i decided to draw it.⠀

i think it’s the idea of interconnectedness, of being able to feel cared for and safe by caring and being safe for others, of seeing my own existence as important and necessary as i witness the existence of others with the importance it deserves. allowing myself to care so much it hurts, to feel awe, to feel wonder, to not take any existence for granted, and finding that there’s exactly as much grace for me as I decide to extend to others. I matter just as much as things matter to me. ⠀

Hello! I usually upload these in January but it’s my birthday month so I thought it’d be more appropriate. I like seeing the transition my style has gone through… I see it a bit like how I see my journey for these past couple of years: learning that I don’t have to try harder, but softer. Learning that I get to lean into the things I enjoy even if they’re simple, and have that be good enough. ⠀

Life feels pretty uncomfortable lately, even amidst all the awe and beauty my body continues to find. My journey with CPTSD is at a place where I’m just existing with what feels like all my soft bits exposed, grieving in the middle of a liminal place. I have been singing folk punk like I did in 2019, and greeting bugs like I did in 2000, riding my bike like it’s 2022, and many of these past versions of myself I’ve drawn are coming back to offer their wisdom, holding my tiny goblin hand through life. Thank you so much for contributing, it was very moving to see so many people coming together and offering their time, energy and resources to the cause. The affected areas remain vulnerable, and now comes a time of rebuilding what got destroyed by the earthquake. An update on my existential crisis 🐛⠀

I stopped formally doing portraits in 2024, and it opened me up to a netted of mess of interlocking questions I’ve had to detangle and take care of, kind of like that magic trick where some person starts to pull ribbons out of their mouth and infinite amounts of ribbons come out and at some point the clown goes like, wow, thats too many ribbons, I think I need to sit in silence for ten days, and then they go back to their house in the mountains and more ribbons keep coming out and they realize their body IS a ribbon made out of ribbons and they are NEVER ENDING and the magic trick is not about getting rid of the ribbons but about the texture and the color of the fabric and the way the ribbons uniquely come out of the body, so they have to find out how live with the mystery of the ribbons in a way that makes it pleasant (or like, acceptable) to have ribbons coming out of their mouth forever, you know? thats my best guess for now ⠀

Colombia, my country, is going through a tough moment of presidential elections. I encourage you to look up who the candidates are and what’s going on around that. Spoiler alert: fascism.

My mind is all over the place so I took a moment to color these pages from my comic to remind myself that the root of grief is love. This seems to be a globally crucial moment for our ecosystems, their natives, and the basic rights of minorities. All this progress kinda feels incoherent and unnecessary when it means trampling over so many human and more than human folks. Where are we running towards, and why do we have to be so violent about it? I don’t understand. You may expect posts in Spanish regarding the elections. Please send love. Please look up paramos! A comic about baby steps and getting started when the world outside feels scary and overwhelming 🐜🐜🐜 ⠀

I often struggle with the feeling that what I’m doing isn’t nearly enough, and this struggle keeps me stuck. I don’t know the full truth about anything, but I have a suspicion that change works in teeny tiny increments, as do ecosystems. What would the world be like without pollinators, some of whose job is to see flowers and snack on them? As I made this comic, and as I type this, I keep thinking of the privilege it takes to be able to distance oneself from the darkness. May we use our privilege to connect with the joy and the pain of the world from our specific standpoints, and do our best to build a reality where we all get to live our lives fully. I don’t know what that looks like, but im sure it involves the compassion of letting ourselves start small, and following the inner callings towards a loving way of being in the world.
