This might be the closest I’ve felt to a real New York bodega in Charlotte 😂🗽

@bodegavibessclt over in Sugar Creek came through with the chopped cheese, bacon egg and cheese on a roll, pastrami and cheese with mustard, and the Stinger, which is basically a cheesesteak with chicken tenders. I added the spicy peach sauce and yeah… that was the move.

AND they stay open until 2AM.

Being from New York, I felt right at home.

@jeffsbagelrun had me trying buffalo spread, an iced cinnamon vanilla latte, and the Sunrise Charge—coconut Red Bull topped with desert pear cold foam.

THE BEST PIZZA I’VE EVER HAD?

New York, I still love you… but Charlotte made its case. 🍕👀

📍 Bird Pizzeria | Charlotte, NC

Here’s what we ordered:

🥬 Kale Caesar — finely grated Grana Padano, crushed croutons, and dressing in every bite.
🍕 Beef pepperoni pizza with hot honey
🍕 The OG specialty pizza
🍋 Lemon olive oil cake with buttermilk ice cream

The pizza? 10/10. Flaky crust, the right crunch, and yes—I folded my slice.

It’s a small, Black-owned spot with great service and loud ’90s R&B and hip-hop. The music was a whole vibe.

Finding all this inside Walmart was not on my bingo card 😂

The Anne Marie Burger, Philly steak fries, oxtail flatbread pizza, spicy peach wings, seafood egg roll, oxtail egg rolls and empanadas all came to play.

This might be one of the most LOADED meals I’ve tried in Charlotte! 🧀🔥

I pulled up to Gouda’s Loaded Kitchen, where they take fries, chicken, mac and cheese, and their homemade Gouda’s cheese sauce and pile it all together. The portion alone had me looking at it like, “How am I supposed to finish this?” 😂

Chef Z ( @lady_zjm )called it Secret Garden… but I’m telling EVERYBODY. 🥗😂
Had to come back to @rebelchefcrew for round two, and she gave me plenty to talk about:
🥗 Secret Garden salad — that lemon poppy seed dressing had me going back in. 🥗 BBQ ranch salad — eating greens with cheesesteak enthusiasm! 🍤 Black tiger shrimp Philly — look at the SIZE of those shrimp. Tasted just as good as it looked. 🍟 Wedge fries — that seasoning deserves its own shout-out. 🍓🍑 @legacy_l3monade by Slowe and Pops — Chef Z had the new blueberry, but I stayed loyal to my favorite: strawberry peach.

A taste of Tanzania, right here in Charlotte! 🇹🇿

I stopped by Serengeti Kitchen inside 7th Street Market and met owner and chef Ammalu before getting into a full East African spread.

I tried the Swahili plate with grilled sekela chicken, coconut rice, vegetables, beans and plantains, followed by chips masala, a beef samosa with tamarind sauce, strawberry Nutella chapati and homemade tamarind-cardamom juice.

Everything tasted great, and I definitely experienced some new flavors. Save this for your next Charlotte food run, then checkitouttt.

Charlotte loves a good brunch spot, but Mexi Love Tacos & Tequila has way more going on than brunch. 🍹🌮

We tried the Flight to Mexico, La Morita, chicken empanadas, mini chimichangas, Texas Nachos Supreme, and finished with a whole churro cart.

And the craziest part? I followed them while I was there and became follower 200 on their live counter 😂
