Summer intensives are over! So grateful for the incredible opportunities, valuable experiences, and all the wonderful people and talented students I met along the way. ❤️ by @pavlepon

Looking back at Week 3 of our Intermediate & Advanced Summer Intensives. 💙

From July 27–August 1, the studio welcomed Ms. Nadia Pavlenko for her week with our dancers, while Mr. Shimon Ito concluded his final week of the Summer Intensives before returning home to Miami.

Throughout the week, dancers continued their regular training while also refining variations and repertoire in preparation for the Summer Intensive Showcase. Classes and rehearsals offered time to work through details, musicality, spacing, and the many adjustments that are part of bringing their work closer to performance.

The week also included a special Parent-Student Forum with Ms. Nadia, Mr. Shimon, and also CDC-CYBT alumni Siena España and Mr. Anson Zwingelberg, who shared perspectives from their experiences as professional dancers and teachers, spoke about the preparation, discipline, and mindset required to enter a professional career, and answered questions from our students and families.

We were also happy to welcome a few familiar faces back into the studio, with CDC-CYBT alumnae returning to take class, assist, and share in the training alongside another generation of dancers.

Here are a few moments from a full and meaningful third week of our Intermediate & Advanced Summer Intensives.

A celebration of the work taking shape throughout our Summer Intensives. 💛

Our Intermediate and Advanced dancers recently had the opportunity to share their work in performance for our Summer Intensive Showcase, held on August 1, 2026, sharing two performances of classical variations, repertoire, and works developed and refined throughout their weeks of training.

More than an opportunity to perform, the Showcase reflected a summer of learning, exploration, and self-discovery. Through each class and rehearsal, our dancers were challenged to strengthen their technique, deepen their musicality and artistry, and discover new possibilities in themselves and in their work.

Our sincere thanks to our resident faculty, Ms. Liza Mata, Ms. Karen Mata, and Mr. Anson Zwingelberg, for their continued guidance throughout the Intensive; and to our guest faculty, Ms. Miriam Mesa-Pelly, Ms. Nadia Pavlenko, and Mr. Shimon Ito, for sharing their knowledge and experience with our dancers.

We are also grateful to CDC-CYBT alumnae Siena España and Sofia Obiena for the many ways they contributed their time, experience, and support throughout the training and rehearsal process.

Special thanks as well to Ms. Irene Rodríguez, whose choreography was among the works presented during the Showcase.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in the audience and supported our dancers as they shared their work onstage.

Here are some of the many moments from our Summer Intensive Showcase.

Max took me out, but refused to be in the picture 😍 It's good to be home, even if it's for one day. Leaving tomorrow to South Carolina. by @pavlepon

New York, New York...
After many years, I have finally returned to a place that has always held a special place in my heart. I love teaching here because I am surrounded by people I deeply respect and whose friendship I truly cherish—Mr. Edward Ellison, Ms. Jolanta Valeikaite, Mr. Jason Ambrose, and so many wonderful colleagues and former students who remain very close to my heart. This is a place where I feel inspired, supported, and truly at home, both professionally and personally. I am deeply grateful to Mr. Ellison and everyone at Ellison Ballet School for welcoming me back and giving me the opportunity to spend two unforgettable weeks at this extraordinary school. It has been an honor and a privilege to be part of this inspiring community once again.💕💕💕 by @pavlepon

OMG!!!
Max completely surprised me with tickets to the incredible "Million Dollar Quartet" and I’m still speechless!!!
The show brings to life the legendary true story of an impromptu jam session at Sun Records in Memphis on a December afternoon in 1956, when four music icons came together for an unforgettable moment in history. The energy, the talent, and the music were absolutely phenomenal.
Thanks for such a thoughtful surprise and a night I won’t forget anytime soon! 🎶🎭❤️✨ by @pavlepon
