A thought about Annaya @chiranjeevikonidela is always a source of joy. While I walk along the memory lane on this special day ,these are few memories I have tumbled upon.

In our childhood, he went away from home to pursue his college education in Narsapur. And his homecoming for summer holidays was a festive season. A big pain and disappointment used to follow when he used to go back for his college. We all used to miss his absence and feel the vacuum. Home was never vibrant till he was back.

In my school days, just walking beside him was a proud moment. I used to feel like I am walking with the world's most important person; by then, he was just in college.

When he used to ride my father’s bike (Bullet - 350 cc) with his curly long hair, fit NCC Cadet body with bell bottoms and glasses - oh! it was an absolutely fanboy and hero-worshipping moment.

My Annaya was always a Hero for me even before he became a Hero.

In the early days of his film career, he brought a big blue bag from his first Singapore trip. In that blue bag I found my first tiny Lego helicopter, few remote cars, racing track, some comics, music tapes, tape recorder ,scented Yardley Co. powders, soaps ,few perfumes and other small gifts to others. He always brought us joy and smiles into our small home.

In subsequent years, when he got married, I was worried that he would be away from all of us. And I was crying silently in a room. Then he brought my Vadina and said, “Come, I will introduce you to a big man (Pedda Manishi) today.” They both were laughing while they found the reason for my tears.

Then, following years, I was taken to Chennai (then Madras) to stay with Annaya and Vadina. I don’t have enough words for the love and care they showered on me.

I had seen his struggle, hard work and injuries in shoots. Everyday he used to reach home in the middle of the night after 18 hours shift of laborious work in his sweat-drenched costumes and shoes in the Chennai’s heat and humidity; with hardly any strength to stand…

I used to feel guilty for living off on his hard work and sacrifice. But he never even uttered a word about my academic failures and lack of direction in my life. by @pawankalyan

As lot of people are curious about this photograph. And this photograph brings back memories of a time marked by deep conversations around the Telangana movement and the idea of Samajika Telangana.

Those were the days when Bahujan thought, social justice, and the political empowerment of neglected communities were central to many of our discussions. Along with Telangana intellectuals, Bahujan activist Augustine garu, revolutionary singer Gaddar garu, and others, we often reflected on the future of Telangana, the need for a just distribution of political power, and the larger vision of Samajika Telangana.

This picture is from the pre-PRP days, when Augustine garu and Gaddar garu visited our home after my father Sri Konidala Venkat Rao garu demise. Beyond politics, it remains a cherished memory of a time when conversations were deeply rooted in social change, equality, and the aspiration to see social justice translated into political power. by @pawankalyan

Chief #PawanKalyan on Twitter :

My commitment to Telangana statehood is not something that began recently.

In 2009, while leading the Yuva Rajyam youth wing of Praja Rajyam Party, I participated in the Telangana Samajika Nyaya Sabha alongside Osmania University student leaders and Gaddar Garu.

At a time when the Congress government led by the late YSR garu, was opposed to the formation of Telangana, I openly supported the aspirations of the Telangana people and gave a call for a “Samajika Telangana” a Telangana built on the foundations of social justice, self-respect, and equal opportunities for all sections of society.

My support for Telangana was never driven by political expediency. It was guided by conviction and a belief that the democratic aspirations of the people deserved recognition and respect.

The stand I took then reflects my unwavering commitment to Telangana and its people. My support for Telangana statehood was not a matter of politics, it was a matter of principle.

Visited the Andhra Pradesh Police Firing Range near Nulakapeta, Tadepalli, and interacted with officials to understand the firing procedures and firearm handling. As a member of the National Rifle Association, I spent some quiet time practicing a few rounds with my Glock 0.45 pistol and maintaining the weapon. The experience felt meditative, a reminder of my practice sessions during my Chennai days as a member of the then Madras Rifle Club. by @pawankalyan

He was never carried away by fame and never let criticism bring him down. From him, I learnt to embrace success with humility and face failures as challenges.

Forever grateful to my ever inspiring Annaya… Keep inspiring us always! by @pawankalyan

It was a great pleasure and honor to reconnect with Thiru Renshi Raja Avl. from Tamil Nadu after 34 years. He was my senior in the early 1990s, training under the guidance of Shihan Hussaini Avl. at the same karate school. At that time, Renshi Raja was already a black belt holder while I was still a green belt. It’s heartening to see him now leading the very school where we trained, carrying forward Shihan’s vision with dedication. Recalling our long-standing association with Shihan Hussaini and discussing our shared passion for martial arts brought back many cherished memories.

My Martial arts Guru ‘Shihan Hussaini’ a legendary martial artist and an exceptional archer, painter, sculptor, musician dedicated his life to promoting and revolutionizing martial arts and archery in India. And Learning that, he spent his final moments watching my interview with Tanthi, just a day before his passing, deeply touched my heart. I was about to visit him on 29th but sad to hear he passed away yesterday night.

The discipline and skills I learned under his guidance shaped me both physically and mentally. His intense training instilled in me the courage and determination that continue to guide me. His legacy in martial arts archery and in fine arts will always be remembered. His contributions to martial arts and archery will be remembered forever, and his teachings will inspire the future. My heartfelt condolences to his family and my fellow students and to my other senior Senseis.

One final ‘Hoyz’ to my dear respected Shihan .

Drops of tears rolling down with a lump in my throat and deep pain in my heart, as I write this…

May his ‘Warrior spirit rests in universal Spirit. by @pawankalyan
