Ever tried running without making a sound? I had to pull that off chasing this gorgeous Soldier Commodore butterfly! It picked the perfect spot to land, making the chase worth it. Fun fact: Soldier Commodores not only have striking wing patterns but also change color between seasons, talk about a wardrobe upgrade! and theyā€™re pretty quick fliers, making them a fun challenge to photograph! I was just a few feet away from this Red-eyed Dove, and it couldnā€™t care less about me being there! šŸ˜‚ Guess staying still really does work. Found this one casually chilling on the pavement by the dam on campus. Fun fact: Red-eyed Doves are known for their calm nature, and they can often be spotted relaxing in open woodlands and gardens. They have a soft, repetitive callsā€”like natureā€™s little background music! A Green Woodhoopoe on my trailāœØāœØ Story time: Iā€™d been walking this trail every day for a week, but yesterday, something different caught my earā€”a new bird call, way more interesting than the usual sounds. Turns out, it was a group of Green Woodhoopoes! These birds love to hang out in groups, and there were about seven of them, making this eerie, but somehow thrilling chorus. Honestly, when you first see them, they can be a bit intimidating. But once you get past that, you start to notice how stunning they really are. Fun fact: Green Woodhoopoes use their loud calls to bond with their groupā€”sort of like a bird choir, only spookier!
