Meet our trainees! 💚🩷

Every day, our trainees join us in the daycare to rebuild confidence, routine and purpose — with your dogs by their side. 🐾

At Paws & Pause, caring for dogs becomes a pathway back into work for people recovering from mental ill-health and addiction. Six months of learning, coaching, teamwork, structure plently of cuddles! 🌍

We’re up for a £45K Southwark THiNC grant that would help fund us continue this work in 2026! ✨

If you live locally, your vote could make this happen.

💗 It takes 30 seconds and transforms lives.

A day in a life at Paws and Pause 🌞
Every dog is unique. Our team understands individual personalities and breed temperament to create experiences and development plans that suit them.

We set up a SUSS plan (setting up for success) personalised for each dog, meeting them where they are and helping them grow. Think of it as your dog’s personal development playlist – some days need more confidence-building tracks, others need the chill out album.

Nearly a million young people in the UK aren't in work, education or training. Six in ten have never had a job.

Alan Milburn's new review says young people now get screened by a portal or an algorithm "before anyone has looked them in the eye." That one stuck with us, because looking people in the eye is pretty much what we do here, every single shift.

Since 2019, 85 people have come through our trainee programme: real shifts, real dogs, real responsibility, and someone in their corner. 40% of our own team started there.

"This is the first time in my life that I feel settled and happy. New job, new home." Trainee, now part of our team
Grace has written up our response: what the review gets right, what we see every day, and what we'd love the final report to say. Link in bio 🐾

Conkers and acorns are poisonous to dogs. As we move more into Autumn, conkers and acorns are all over the ground.

If you suspect that your dog has eaten or chewed a conker or acorn, please speak to your vet immediately.
