It’s been a hot minute since my last canine massage and ya girl has definitely been feeling it. 😮‍💨

So today was all about getting those senior pup muscles loosened up and feeling good again. ✨ Of course, I couldn’t have a spa day without my furend JJ @momoandjujube there to supervise.😅

10/10 would recommend getting your humans to book you a canine massage with Justine @pawsitive.mobility! It’s my monthly ritual!

The body is an interconnected system, Visceral therapy is a gentle approach that considers both mobility and motility of the organs.

✨ Mobility = how an organ moves with the body and surrounding tissues

✨ Motility = the movement an organ creates on
its own, like the natural movement of the digestive system

It’s a gentle approach that considers more than just muscles looking at the body as a connected system !

🐾 Touch is a conversation, not a command

For reactive or touch-sensitive dogs, massage doesn’t start with hands, it starts with trust.

Every dog has a different comfort level, and introducing touch should always happen at their own pace.
We begin by observing their body language, respecting their boundaries, and creating positive associations with gentle, predictable contact.

✨ Some ways to introduce touch include:

🐾 Letting your dog choose to approach
🐾 Starting with areas they already enjoy being touched, like the chest for example
🐾 Using slow, gentle pressure instead of quick movements
🐾 Keeping sessions short and ending on a positive note

Massage is never about forcing relaxation. It’s about helping your dog feel safe enough to relax on their own.

For reactive dogs, every positive touch experience can help build confidence and create a foundation for future bodywork.

Trust is built one gentle touch at a time 💚

Heat waves can be tough on our dogs! 🐶💦

Our go-to routine for staying cool:

❄️ Cooling vest or harness
💧 Plenty of water breaks
🛏️ Cooling blanket for post-walk recovery
🧠 Mental enrichment to burn energy without overheating

Try activities like:
🐾 Lick mats
🐾 Frozen Kongs
🐾 Snuffle mats
🐾 Treat puzzles
🐾 Short training sessions indoors

A little preparation goes a long way in keeping your pup comfortable and safe during hot weather.

🐾 Hot pavement check: If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws!

Stay safe, stay hydrated 🙏🏻

🐾 Lymphatic Massage = Quiet Power 🐾

Your dog’s lymphatic system has no pump, it relies on movement.

When it slows down:
- Toxins build up
- Swelling can appear
- Immunity can drop

lymphatic massage helps:
- Boost circulation
- Reduce inflammation
- Support immune function

Perfect for:
- Post-surgery recovery
- Senior dogs
- Dogs with low energy
- Immune support during seasonal changes

Soft touch. Real impact 🙏🏻

Because sometimes the lightest pressure does the most

Calm. Present. Connected 🤍🙏🏻

That’s the space I always aim to create during my massage session
Because when a dog feels safe enough to soften,
that’s when everything shifts 🐶✨

Sun out, tongue out ☀️🐶

Did you know?
Seasonal changes can impact your dog’s body more than you think.

Season changes can bring:
- Increased activity (hello zoomies 🤪)
- Stiff joints after winter
- Shedding + skin sensitivity
- More strain from longer walks & adventures

Massage helps your dog transition smoothly by:
- Improving circulation
- Supporting joint mobility
- Reducing muscle tension
- Boosting relaxation & recovery

Regular massage can help prevent injuries, support mobility, and keep your dog comfortable as activity levels rise 🐾

Why & when do dogs need massage? 🤍🐶

Just like us, dogs carry stress in their bodies and it shows over time.

✨ Massage can help when your dog experiences:

• Stress & emotional tension
New environments, routine changes, anxiety, or overstimulation can create muscle tightness and restlessness.

• Repetitive stress on the body
Jumping in and out of cars, off furniture, or repetitive movements can slowly strain muscles and joints.

• Leash pressure on the neck & shoulders
Pulling on walks can create ongoing tension through the neck, shoulders, and upper back—sometimes without obvious signs at first.

💆‍♂️ Regular massage helps release tension, support mobility, and bring the body back into balance—before discomfort turns into bigger issues.

Your dog doesn’t have to be injured to benefit. Sometimes, they just need a moment to soften, reset, and feel good in their body ✨

Why recurrent massage matters for dogs ✨

Massage isn’t a one-time fix !

The body responds best to consistency 🤓

• Prevents tension from building up
• Supports muscles & joints over time
• Helps the nervous system stay balanced
• Improves mobility and comfort long-term

🐶🐾 Regular sessions allow the body to release, adapt, and truly benefit, especially for active, anxious, or aging dogs. 🐶🐾
