Father’s Day throwback! Thankful for my Dad’s influence on my life and the path that I have chosen. The experiences that he gave me while playing on this team among others made it clear that coaching is what I wanted to do with my life and I will always be thankful for that.

To the 2026 Lions:

We didn’t reach our goals, but that doesn’t mean that we didn’t move the program forward. The work that you all have put in has made Daniel High School one of the most notable baseball programs in the state. 20 wins has become an expectation, and for that, we are blessed. There is no doubt in my mind that this team (particularly our 2026 class) has helped our program become this, while also giving us a beautiful platform to identify how to take the next step, which I know that we are all hungry for.

To the parents, your generosity and trust will always be something that I am grateful for. I am so thankful for the opportunity to work with these kids every day, and the support is what makes this place truly special. 2026 was a big year in facility upgrades, and the generosity that was shown during this season is unfathomable. You have all left this place better than you found it, and you have all made a tangible impact on the future of DW Daniel HS, particularly the baseball program. For that: THANK YOU!

To my family, I am so grateful for my beautiful wife @ldpayne_ and my daughter Ellie for their patience and understanding during baseball season. The kids at DWD will always get the best version of me because I have a family who understands what it entails to build something meaningful. I am so happy to see them in the stands supporting and to see Ellie running around enjoying herself and rooting for the Lions. These are truly the best days, and while this season ending is not what we wanted, it’s always refreshing to get some extra quality time with the people who truly make it possible. To @epaynee12, I couldn’t be more proud of the man you have become. You have seen way more adversity then I would have wished upon you, but you have always put your head down, worked hard, not worried about the flowers you receive, and you have become the best version of yourself. That is what makes you who you are, and that is what makes you special. I am so thankful for the opportunity to coach you, but I am way more proud to be your Dad. What a unique and special ride it was, I will forever be thankful.
