One year ago, on a rainy Saturday, I exchanged vows with my best friend in a quaint chapel just down the road from where he grew up. We celebrated our covenant on family land in the home of his great-grandparents, across the driveway from where his parents got married. What a dream it was to see the place where most of our memories were made together, be transformed into our wedding venue- something only possible due to the tireless labor and love of our friends and family. Our wedding day will forever serve as a personal reminder of God’s eternal provision and grace.

Grateful.

For friends and family that have supported me through running and have been there to pick me up through injuries or have just been with me to ice and rest. For Ashley who supports me so well.

For the ability to run, the opportunity to push myself physically and mentally in this hobby/sport.

Lord, thank you for Joseph Payton Porter.
I have seen You in his eyes, his face, his smile, and his heart. I have seen You in the way he views himself and in the way he serves others. I have seen You in his habits, his discipline, his patience, his joy, and his strength.
Most of all, I have seen You in the way he loves me.

Payton, your unwavering obedience to God has led us to this place, standing on countless answered prayers. Thank you for your leadership and how you’ve managed to direct my eyes to Christ in everything that you do.
