STATE SPEECH!! I placed fifth in Serious Prose Interpretation, which is absolutely insane to say. Thank you God. There was so much talent and passion at this competition, which was incredible to watch and compete against.

Making finals at state was such an honor!! I was competing against the people who have put the most effort and heart into their speeches. These are some of the most beautiful actors and actresses in Minnesota.

First off, thank you to all who wished me a happy birthday! You’re all wonderful. However most forget that my birthday is not only mine, but my sisters as well.

Paisley was taken from this Earth as a part of God’s plan that my family will most likely never understand. In honor of her, we release balloons on our birthday into the sky. We always watch to make sure they get to her, when we can’t see them in the sky anymore. This year my brother and I had the honor of enjoying this tradition with our closest friends.

Thank you God for this day, I pray she can hear us and feel our love.

Speech was never about winning, no matter how fun it was to win. It was about being heard. Once again two years later, I was one spot away from going to state. Thank you NYM speech for being my outlet, for giving me a place where it is necessary and preferred to be loud, and letting me connect with so many wonderful people. This is one of the hardest heartbreaks I’ll ever go through. On to college speech competition!! #rollcobbs

I wasn’t going to make a New Years post this year, because I thought “I haven’t done anything interesting this year.” But sometimes we need to slow down and actually see who we have become. This year, I:

* Got in Gods word nearly every day (I NEVER opened my Bible up until about a year ago)
* Donated blood for the first time (I HATE needles)
* Gave my life to Christ (baptism coming soon)
* Grew SO much closer to my Brookie
* Finaled at state speech ahh
* Learned A LOT more Spanish
* Loved
* Found my college!
