Back on the anchor desk this week.

Something I’ve gotten better at over the last few years? Putting my phone down on vacation and just enjoying the moment. 🤍Sooo, delayed Mexico content incoming!

“I don’t want to ever be that way again, ever. I’ve had people die.”

For Kerry Stone, addiction was a decades-long battle that began in her teenage years and nearly cost her everything.

Union County is a powerful film shining a light on addiction, the stigma surrounding it and a local recovery program changing lives. What makes this film especially meaningful? It features real people who have lived through addiction and recovery.

I had the opportunity to sit down with actor Will Poulter, director Adam Meeks and several of the film’s cast members to talk about the stories behind the screen.

But one quote from our conversation has stayed with me....

“If your child had experienced an accident or had taken ill, you might go around to the parents of that child and you might drop off a casserole, you might ask what you can do. But if your child was in rehab, would you expect to receive a casserole from your neighbor?”

That question says so much about the stigma surrounding addiction. People battling addiction deserve the same compassion, support and dignity as anyone else fighting for their life.

Sometimes....changing the conversation is where changing lives begins.

I promise I’ll share more Mexico photos soon...
But FIRST, I think it’s time I introduce you to our very consistent third wheel.

At this point, he’s basically part of the vacation package.

Wait until the end… because somehow our Christmas debate turns into an even MORE controversial confession 😂

Eli and Natalie have VERY strict rules about decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving.
