Last month, we held our annual company-wide Summit events in Pitt Meadows, Calgary, Winnipeg, Montréal and Toronto. What a whirlwind! 🧡

Employees from each region gathered together to hear insights from our executive leaders, learn from inspirational speakers (including the incredible Leanne Taylor, 2024 Paris Paralympian medalist!), and level up our skills in focused breakout sessions.

We covered a lot in only 2 short days, but we left feeling inspired, excited, and ready to head into our fiscal year with a “Let’s Do This!” attitude. 🙌

Payworks offices will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday, September 30) in observance of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

- Shot some basketballs with @wpgseabears
- Served smokies, burgers, hot dogs, and veggie dogs (Thanks again @willydogswpg)

Leave legislation has recently changed in Alberta from 16 to 27 weeks. When an employee goes on leave, an HR checklist needs to be considered. Plus, payroll…and don’t forget to keep it all timely!

Some primary things to consider:
- Make sure to change a salaried employee's payroll status within their final pay period, but hold off on doing so for hourly employees until after their last shift
- Make sure to issue an ROE within 7 consecutive days (full-time) or 30 days (part-time/casual)
- Don't forget the T4 at year-end…even employees on extended leave need one!

Today we are throwing it back to only a couple of weeks ago, when our crews volunteered to help us support our National partner @TimsCamps as part of the Tim Hortons Foundation Camps #CampDay!

Despite the rainy weather, people showed up in droves to donate and purchase their coffees and camp day donuts, ensuring that underprivileged kids from across Canada will make it to camp this year! 🍩☕🏕️
