Join us for a special project with Nestor Topchy at Untitled Art, Houston!

The Iconic Portrait Strand: Houston is an evolving installation of thirty painted portraits of Houstonians. Throughout the fair, the installation will expand through a live performative element, with Topchy creating portrait drawings of invited sitters at regular intervals. These newly completed works will be incorporated into the presentation in real time, transforming the installation into a living archive that grows over the course of the fair.

This Saturday! Please join us from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a reception celebrating two great exhibitions by Martha Tuttle & Will Henry

We are excited to share that Will Henry, “Painting in the Rearview Mirror” is now on view. Please join us for a reception with the artist next Saturday (9/26) from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The title speaks to this sense of looking backward — Will, quite literally, looking back at his own paintings, revisiting and loosely reworking earlier ideas, images, and motifs throughout this new body of work. In the process, Will uses his own visual history as material for something entirely new, while remaining true to his playful sensibility.

We are delighted to open our fall season with an exhibition of exquisite new works by Martha Tuttle called “Bats.”

8 September - 31 October 2026

Please join us for a reception with the artist Saturday 26 September, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

These works are poetic ruminations born from the unexpected company of winged visitors during a spring spent in France at Atelier Calder (Saché, FRA). A summer residency at the Clyfford Still Museum (Denver, CO) contributed to their further development, resulting in many of the cast bronze objects that nestle inside and on top of several of the works.

Shown here:
“Wings II” (2026)
Silk, linen, dye, pigment, bronze, wood
13 x 12 1/2 in (33 x 31.8 cm)

The Watermill Center Summer Festival was otherworldly! Bravo to the many artists, performers, musicians, and brilliant minds who shared their vision.

In the gallery: Bruce Conner

In 1965, Bruce Conner created fourteen lithographs during a two-month fellowship at Tamarind Lithography Workshop in Los Angeles. Many of these prints would achieve legendary status within the artist’s printed oeuvre, serving as biting, ironic challenges to the traditions of lithography. Always defying categorization, Conner simultaneously produced other lithographs that are sincere, refined organic abstractions, such as the one shown here.
