September 20th will forever be the hardest day of my life. I can’t believe I have to continue this journey without you, my forever baby sister. Because of you, I learned what it meant to be a good brother. You fought with so much strength, and though it breaks me to let you go, I’ll take your passing as you finally resting from the pain cancer put you through.

I was so excited to celebrate your 21st birthday, and I always dreamed of being there for your 25th. Now, May 22nd will never be the same—it will be a day of mourning instead of joy. My heart shatters knowing I won’t see your future children, that you won’t be at my graduation, that the dream of you giving our parents grandchildren is gone. I’m crushed knowing I’ll never get the chance to be an uncle to your babies. You were robbed of the chance to finish nursing school and live out the future you deserved.

But through it all, my beautiful sister, you showed a bravery no one should ever have to endure. You fought a battle with cancer that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Rest in eternal peace, my angel. You’ll forever be 21, and forever in my heart. I love you endlessly.
