Each noble house in Ryumere needed its own mark, so I set out to create 15 individual sigils for the world of This Wretched Alchemy. Thank you to @tinamarsbooks for bringing me into the project and trusting me to help translate her world into symbols. It means a lot to have an opportunity like this from an old friend, and Iā€™m proud that these designs will be included in the US and European editions of her debut novel. Release is right around the corner - November 10!! by @pbkiner
15 sigils, each representing a noble house in Ryumere. Iā€™m lucky to have friends who are willing to take creative chances together. Huge thanks to @tinamarsbooks for bringing me into This Wretched Alchemy and giving me the opportunity to contribute to the world sheā€™s created. Itā€™s been a rewarding project from start to finish, and Iā€™m looking forward to seeing these pieces in the US and European editions of her debut novel. November 10! by @pbkiner
Fifteen noble houses, fifteen sigils, each with its own identity in the lands of Ryumere. Venturious went through some changes, but came out just right! Big thanks to @tinamarsbooks for inviting me to help shape the world of This Wretched Alchemy. Getting to create artwork that becomes part of someone's imagined world has been a genuinely special experience. These designs are licensed for the US and European editions of her debut novel. House Drusus completes the set of Minor Houses in Ryumere! This was a fun spin on nekomata and the house that our fierce femme protag hails from. A huge thank you to @tinamarsbooks for trusting me with this project and letting me help bring pieces of This Wretched Alchemy to life. Getting to collaborate with an old friend on something this ambitious has been an incredible experience. These pieces are licensed for publication in the US and European editions of her debut novel. A little wordplay that I've been excited to share for #frightfall2026 #goblin I feel like I unlocked a style I really enjoy working in! by @pbkiner
The fallen house, Erevos! Fifteen houses, fifteen sigils. Each design was created to capture the identity and history of a noble house in Ryumere. Thereā€™s a kind of magic in drawing something for the first time and then realizing in someone elseā€™s story, itā€™s always existed. Iā€™m so grateful to @tinamarsbooks for letting me explore that with This Wretched Alchemy. This became my biggest project to date, and Iā€™m stoked these pieces will be part of the US and European editions. November 10!! by @pbkiner
I created 15 distinct house sigils, giving each noble house of Ryumere its own visual identity. The Tharus design was an especially fun one - based on a relatively obscure marine yokai called amabie. Iā€™m going to be proud of this project for a long time. Huge thanks to @tinamarsbooks for bringing me into the world of This Wretched Alchemy and trusting me to help develop some of its visual language. This has been my biggest project to date, and Iā€™m incredibly grateful to have been a part of it. See the sigils in the US, UK, and German editions - out November 10! by @pbkiner
Did you know there is a creatures glossary in the back of THIS WRETCHED ALCHEMY? There are many creepy creatures and monsters in this story. To celebrate THREE WEEKS til release, Iā€™m thrilled to present the trewyrms, who lurk in the Stills. Thank you @pbkiner for this fantastic piece! He is also the artist who did all the stunning House sigil artwork you will find at the beginning of the book. THIS WRETCHED ALCHEMY is an epic adult gladiator dark fantasy where the throne isnā€™t inherited, itā€™s hunted in blood. Sheā€™s the only one not playing to win, but to kill the realmā€™s deadliest alchemist before he can claim it, unless he claims her first. by @pbkiner
Itā€™s pretty amazing when a longtime friendship leads to an opportunity like this. Thank you, @tinamarsbooks, for trusting me enough to bring me into your world and letting me play a small part in building it. These pieces are licensed for the US and European editions of This Wretched Alchemyā€”a project Iā€™m incredibly proud to have been part of. I designed a collection of 15 house sigils, each representing one of the noble houses of Ryumere. November 10! šŸ–¤ by @pbkiner
I had the opportunity to create 15 distinct sigils, each serving as the emblem of a noble house in the lands of Ryumere. Thereā€™s something pretty special about being handed a blank page and being asked to help create a world from scratch. Thank you to @tinamarsbooks for trusting me with that opportunity. This has been my biggest design project to date, and Iā€™m so excited that these pieces will be published in the US and European editions of This Wretched Alchemy. November 10! by @pbkiner
House Fenrysuth Each sigil was created as a visual identity for the 15 noble houses that contend for the lands of Ryumere. Feeling very fortunate to have been invited into the world of This Wretched Alchemy. Thank you, @tinamarsbooks, for trusting me with a small piece of something youā€™ve spent so much time creating. This project pushed me in a lot of exciting ways, and Iā€™m incredibly proud of where it landed. These pieces will be published in the US and European editions of the novel. by @pbkiner
