365 days ago, I experienced the worst crash of my life. I learned many valuable life lessons I didn’t know I needed. As I faced the biggest challenge of my life, I wasn’t sure if I could handle it. After the crash, I was confronted with the possibility that I might never ski again… ~ ~ Rewatching the footage of my crash will always haunt me in my dreams and was truly the scariest moment of my life. I was in a foreign country where I did not speak the local language and had little to no clue what was going on. Luckily, I was in the care of my lifelong friend @bvergara12 and his wonderful family to help get me the care I needed. ~ ~ Fast forward to one year later, I have undergone two major surgeries to fix my knee. The first surgery was immediately following the crash to repair my ruptured patella tendon, medial meniscus, and also to fully remove the torn ACL. 7 months later I had my second surgery to reconstruct my ACL as well as to fully reconstruct the lateral side of my knee (LCL, lateral meniscus root, PLC). ~ ~ Now after 7 days a week of strenuous physical therapy I feel strong and confident I will be back skiing this season! I am blessed to be moving again and I truly believe in myself! ~ ~ Thank you to the best PTs @logan.walters_pt @movestrongphysicaltherapy @denling1 @cresseysportsperformance ~ ~ @rossignolfreeride @spyder_freeski @lookbindings @lange_boots @sweetprotection @cufreeskiing #skiing#chile#isfa#fsa#laparva#skicrash#freerideskiing#bigmountainskiing#skirehab#acl#aclrecovery#anotherbestday#rossignol#rossignolfreeride by @pbova_

¡Esto es Freeride Sudamerica! —— —— —— —— —— —— Salud 🍻 @freeridesudamerica for giving me the chance to come down to Chile and express my flow of skiing! Unfortunately, I will be leaving this amazing country with a few less ligaments… I ruptured my patellar tendon which has shrunken 41mm. My previous reconstructed ACL from 2022 is also fully torn. I also have a horizontal tear of my interior meniscus and a full vertical tear of my exterior meniscus. This crash also left me with a fractured tibia plateau and medial femoral condyle. Time for another ACL reconstruction next week back in the states❤️‍🩹 I will hopefully see you all on the slopes soon! —— —— —— @rossignolfreeride @lange_boots @lookbindings @spyder_freeski @nocco.usa @cufreeskiing @gopro #estoesfreeride #freeridefamilia #freeridesudamerica #anotherbestday #rossignolsenderfree110 #spyderfreeski #gopromax #skiing #laparva #laparvachile #fwq #freeridechile #freeskiing by @pbova_

@arapahoe_basin East Wall is legit! On a serious note, I’m so glad I could “walk” away from this one. I did this exact air yesterday and had a great view from inspection this morning. Unfortunately, I couldn’t gain enough speed for this specific hit. I hit the rocks in the landing and tomahawked over the next rock below. Shoutout @ifsafreeriders and @abasinfreeride for putting on an awesome comp today!! #thisisfreeride #anotherbestday - - @rossignolfreeride @spyder_freeski @nocco.usa @cufreeskiing by @pbova_

Something from today @altaskiarea Unreal conditions this season with over 800 inches of snow, unlocking new lines and making big cliffs seem small. This is a year to remember for sure! @spyder_freeski @rossignolfreeride by @pbova_

You’ve been real @skitaos I’m super bummed to only ski away on one ski but hey, I bet you’ve never seen that good of one ski turns down Kachina.
