PBSC is pleased to announce a new service for individuals navigating family court without a lawyer. The Family Justice Centre (FJC), in partnership with @legalaid.on.ca (LAO), is offering a free, same-day family court form drafting service at the Ontario Court of Justice (47 Sheppard Ave) for financially eligible clients. 🔹 June 1 to August 12 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 AM to 5 PM 🔹 Assistance by an FJC student caseworker, supervised by LAO Counsel 🔹 Potential clients must speak to Advice Counsel first to determine eligibility We are grateful to LAO for their partnership on this initiative, which reflects our shared commitment to improving access to justice and ensuring services are available where they are needed most. by @pbsc_epbc

This Indigenous History Month, PBSC is proud to spotlight our partners, the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre (TBIFC) and @odawanative_fc. Since the 1960s and 70s, these organizations have played a vital role in strengthening the well-being of Indigenous communities in Thunder Bay and Ottawa. Through holistic programming, advocacy, community development, and the sharing of traditional teachings from Elders, they continue to uplift the communities they serve. PBSC is honoured to partner with both centres and @theofifc to operate Indigenous Human Rights Clinics . Last year, twelve PBSC law student volunteers delivered public legal education sessions on Human Rights 101 and Human Rights in Healthcare and helped our volunteer lawyers deliver legal advice on human rights to members of the community. ***** Pleins feux sur des partenaires d’EPBC à l’occasion du Mois de l’histoire autochtone. En ce Mois de l’histoire autochtone, EPBC est fier de mettre en vedette deux de ses partenaires : le Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre (TBIFC) et le @odawanative_fc. Depuis les années 1960 et 1970, ces organismes jouent un rôle essentiel dans le renforcement du bien-être des communautés autochtones de Thunder Bay et d’Ottawa. Grâce à des programmes holistiques, à la défense des droits et des intérêts, au développement communautaire et à la transmission des enseignements traditionnels des Aînés et Aînées, ils continuent d’élever les communautés qu’ils servent. EPBC est honoré de s’associer à ces deux centres et @theofifc pour gérer les Cliniques des droits de la personne des Autochtones. L’année dernière, douze étudiant·es en droit d’EPBC ont présenté des ateliers d’éducation juridique sur les droits de la personne fondamentaux et les droits de la personne dans le domaine de la santé et ont aidé nos avocat·es bénévoles à fournir des conseils juridiques en matière de droits de l'homme aux membres de la communauté. by @pbsc_epbc
