An old family scandal and fragmented crime stories: in “Trouble Score”, 𝗟𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮 and 𝗣𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 weave humour, magical realism and music into a moving, provocative journey through trauma, memory and connection.

The siblings, originally from Brazil and now living in Belgium, set out to uncover the truth behind a long-buried family scandal. From fragmentary crime stories, an incredible plot gradually unfolds which childhood innocence clashes with the distorted reality of trauma – against the backdrop of racial segregation and military dictatorship.

✨ The show turns to magic realism to transform negative events into pop songs, coping mechanisms into hyperbolic analogies, and destructive patterns into encouraging mantras.

With “Trouble Score”, long-standing artistic partners 𝗟𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 and 𝗣𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 return to the beginnings of their collaboration: in this distinctive blend of storytelling, concert and performance, multi-layered texts, sound samples and pre-recorded and live music come together to form a complex composition. A polyphonic evening exploring trauma, memory and the possibility of connection.

🔎 Theatre maker Luanda Casella, based at 𝗡𝗧𝗚𝗲𝗻𝘁, is now playing at HAU for the fourth time, following “Ferox Tempus – Terror at its best” (2022), “Killjoy Quiz” (2023) and “Short of Lying” (2024).

“15 jaar” EP release

Tom, Lien & Pablo zijn vrienden die vijftien jaar geleden in 2011 uit liefde voor intiem akoestisch samenspel en melodieuze songs van verschillende tijden en windrichtingen hun talenten hebben verenigd: de warme stem van Lien (u wel bekend als Lady Linn), het Braziliaans-klassieke gitaarspel van Pablo en de houtblaasinstrumenten van Tom. Dit trio speelde vijftien jaar lang onder de radar, naast andere officiële muzikale projecten. Hun goede herinneringen aan Arscene (2013) brengen hen nu terug.
Naar aanleiding van hun kristallen jubileum brengen ze voor het eerst een EP uit met acht eclectische covers: van de country song ‘Polly Come Home’ van Gene Clark uit 1969 via het Braziliaans ‘As Cores De Abril’ van Toquinho & Vinicius en ‘Celestial Blues’ van Andy Bey, beiden uit 1974, tot ‘The Big Tree’ uit 2012 van het Frans-Jamaican soundsystem Stand High Patrol. De nummers werden compleet heringebeeld met rijke arrangementen ofwel helemaal uitgekleed tot hun minimalistische essentie.
De plaat is al puzzelend tussen andere projecten over een periode van vijf jaar tot stand gekomen en wordt op CD en digitale platforms uitgebracht, met daarna een eventuele release op vinyl via een pre-order crowdfunding actie.
