Depth in our thoughts. Roots in our movements. Spirit in our gathering. Awakening in our consciousness.

Our history carries both wounds and wisdom. Beyond the divisions imposed on Black people, there is a memory that lives in our bodies, our rhythms, and our ways of coming together.

Maybe the awakening begins when we look beyond what separates us and remember what connects us.

seeing beyond the present, reaching into our roots, and imagining a future our ancestors were never allowed to see. ❤️🔥

Am pioneering a new community space in jos Nigeria 🇳🇬that gathers northern dancers monthly in a dance battle! I have no idea where this is going but am sure it is for good . Am just exploring again ,is funny how dance continues to navigate me , now dance says this way and I simply obey. Am not the type that rush anything , so am just taking baby steps and trusting the journey . One thing am absolutely sure of is this is a good thing for the northern dance communities.
It is 💯 percent community project but Let me be selfish for a second, it is also about building a legacy for myself , we can talk about that later 😀
It took a lot of courage for me to do this , for so many reasons , but I choose to move this direction right now Becouse my heart tells me to do so, I have a track record of following my heart😀
It’s gonna be a monthly thing . For now I called it raw exchange with pclef but the name might change , for now I am just starting and experimenting when it is clear enough for what this is , i will stamp the name .
So hold on to the name loosely 😀
am ready to begin ! Starting this October 18th by 5pm at eagles studio jos , from there I see where it leads too .
I also think Jtown is ready too am excited about the reception when I spoke to a few people about it .
I invite all my friends and colleagues to support this !
Thank you 🙏

What does it take to build a dance community when the odds are against you?

In Episode 33 of the OffBalance Podcast, we sit down with @pclefdance “P-Clef” dancer, community organizer, leader of Eagles Dance Company, and one of the key figures shaping the dance ecosystem in Jos.

While many would have chosen to leave, P-Clef chose to stay.

Through insecurity, uncertainty, and countless challenges, she has continued to create opportunities, organize festivals, mentor young people, and prove that dance can be more than movement it can be a tool for transformation, leadership, and community building.

This conversation goes beyond dance. It’s about resilience, vision, sacrifice, and what happens when one person commits to building something bigger than themselves.
