St Andrews Corbridge - a hole in reality - the town was the headquarters for many of the wars against Scotland on the eastern marches and sits on the old Roman Stanegate road to the Solway Firth. There’s been a church here for 1500 years at least and a sacred site for much much longer. It’s dressed for the Remembrance season which is itself deeply pagan. I was there to see a book launch by Dave Haslam who I am 99% sure I last met in London in UCL days when we were both 20 or so. He was then visiting a friend and slept on the union magazine floor. The talk was in a bookshop where my younger daughter worked. I went with a friend who used to go to Haslams nights at the Hacienda. I wish the way things are intertwined shed clarity! Perhaps the important thing is that they are so by @pcnorthumberland
A lovely stroll round Islington killing some time before getting a train north which gave me time to look at Milner, Gibson, Cloudsley Sqs and Chapel Mkt. This all hit me much harder than I expected - it’s lovely here and a beautiful day and I always adored it from UCL days onward but the time round these streets was a pretty extreme time in my life. And we were so so young. Plus a benign eccentric memory, the fabulous Tring museum with my mum. Hadn’t been since the 80s. by @pcnorthumberland
Wonderful artists open evening at the beautiful old Tyne Theatre and Opera on the Westgate Road in the Toon. Six of us perched all over the place sketching frantically for a few hours. A nominal fee of six quid. Thanks so much to them. I’ll have some inked in sketches to share soon #tynetheatreandoperahouse by @pcnorthumberland
