🩺 Physician Assistants (PAs) have long been an essential part of patient care, but how well known is their scope of practice and autonomy?

➡️ PAs may lead independent workups, treatment plans, discharge decisions and continuity of care, demonstrating that they often serve as primary care providers.

With generalists training, students in our Physician Assistant Studies Program across @pcomeducation and @pcomgeorgia are suited to serve communities in need once they graduate.

“A physician assistant can go where the need is—a rural hospital, an underserved primary care clinic, a specialty short on hands—without re-entering years of additional formal training,” explains Chair and Program Director Justin M. Gambini, DMSc, PA-C, DFAAPA.

As we kick off #PAWeek (Oct. 6 - 12), look beyond the title and learn what physician assistants do at the link 🔗 in our bio! Two individuals are in a medical training setting. One is sitting on an examination table, while the other stands, holding a pencil-like object in front of them. The background includes privacy curtains. by @pcomeducation
