To My Murphy 🤍

The love we had for one another was never loud or boisterous. It was quiet and unassuming, yet profoundly deep. You were an extension of me; to know me was to know you. I had you, and you me. And that’s how it’s been, a silent and unwavering bond, special and rare. We cherished each other, and I became accustomed to you; everything you were was home for me. It was the soft exhales of breath through your nose when I’d wake late at night, calm and consistent. It was how your face would pop up at the side of the bed every morning, joyful and eager to begin the day. It was your gentle disposition and affinity with holding hands, dipping your sweet head to be bestowed with kisses. The way I’d never do anything alone; you were by my side throughout life’s mundane tasks, making it better. You sat with me when life was difficult, gently licking salty tears off my face. You looked at me like I kept the secrets to the entire universe, like I could never be flawed. We shared a bond that is difficult to articulate. You showered me with unconditional love, every single day, and for that I’ll always be grateful. I’ll never stop loving you and missing you.

My gentle boy, you made my life better and more full. You made me better. I’ll miss your happy greetings at the door with your favourite toy, full of joyful grumbles. I’ll miss your sweet face attentively waiting for our next adventure together, even if that was just sitting in the backyard enjoying the sunshine and listening to the birds sing. I’ll miss your happy tippy taps when we’d throw your ball, and how you’d look up at me mid-walk, letting me know this was the best moment ever, this time right now that we’re sharing together. Just your presence was my home and my heart. Nothing could or ever will replace you; there will never be another you. I love you, Murphy. Thank you for choosing me, loving me, and seeing me, for encouraging play and presence, and for being a bright and positive light in my life. by @pdubfilms

@jesse__david and I made something that we’re excited to share with you very soon.

FLIP is a short documentary following Jesse’s goal to do his first backflip since losing his left leg below the knee. The film explores Jesse’s daredevil youth, the accident that changed his life, his harrowing amputation and recovery journey, and his mission to discover the limits of his transformed body and mind.

Rest in peace mom ❤️ You were the centre of our universe and the reason home felt like home. Now the world feels terribly empty without you. Our happy little family had so much fun together and we deserved more time together. The truth is I’m devastated and don’t want to accept that you’re gone, but I know we must honour you by preserving the courage and positivity you embodied. You fought cancer for twenty years, yet you spent very little time being sick and for that I’m grateful. Your diagnosis weighed heavy at times but we knew how precious our time together was and we enjoyed so much of it. Thank you for everything mom. We love you so much ❤️ by @pdubfilms
