Our ways are not His ways. Our thoughts not His.. sin separates us from God. He sent these children to us to be discipled and we need to come correct. There’s a whole lot being said about how to parent these days. It can be overwhelming. But the Bible has been here waiting for us to apply it. Our children are waiting for us to disciple them. What do a call a learner who wants to see it, touch it, hear it & experience it?? I’m sure there’s a term. When it comes to the Bible, I enjoy reading it AND watching it, listening to it.. experiencing it through all of my senses. It truly helps to deepen my understanding and paint the picture of what it was like to be David or Joseph or Peter. Though we take creative license in some areas, I appreciate those who point their lens towards Christ. We consume so much of everything on a daily basis that it takes over. In an effort to consume more of Him, I shifted what I watch & listen to. Definitely still read the Bible. That’s a must. Here’s the pages so you can follow and start to shift your algorithm - because that matters too. Yesterday, I was so bothered. There’s a restaurant we frequent and we usually have the same server. When it was time to pay, he selected the highest tip amount and tried to proceed with my payment. I told him to let me select the tip. Then he went on to act like he’d done nothing wrong, went back through the steps and selected the tip again. He made it seem as if he were helping me and all I had to do now was tap my card.I was so mad - both because I felt he was taking advantage and also because I had two sleepy children who were ready to go and it took a long time to even get the bill. I asked him to start over again and this time I selected the tip I wanted and closed out. On the way home I was still mad. I think I was justified but I was also upset that I allowed that to shift my mood. I don’t want that. So I prayed and honestly I was still bothered. Scripture helped. It was a necessary reminder and it eased my anger. How many of us have been in this position?
