signed up for a 10K, and somehow left with a PB 🥹🩵

a beautiful day running the Vancouver Seawall, the best atmosphere, people cheering us on, a little sea life spotting, and getting to share it all with my mum.

53:48 — a new 10K PB!

vancouver, that was a good one. 🇨🇦

our idea of a catch-up 🩵💪🏽

Every moment counts with your long distance bestie, especially when she asks you to join her Hyrox class!! (maybe the start of my hyrox journey👀)

a little reminder that being healthy isn't just about doing all the “right” things. it's about being able to do more of the things you love, with the people you love.

a huge thank you to @axefitness.bc for such an insane class, gym & all the footage🔥

what carb-loading for my first ultra looked like🍝🥔🥟

In the 2–3 days before the race, I made a conscious effort to prioritise carbs, eat regularly and stick to foods I knew sat well with me.

The goal? Maximise my stored carbohydrate (glycogen) before a long day on the trails — and arrive at the start line feeling fuelled and comfortable.

A few things to remember:
→ Carb-loading is about your overall intake in the days before, not just dinner the night before.
→ Make carbs a priority at meals and snacks.
→ Keep food familiar and don't forget that fuelling during the event matters too.

This is what worked for me, not a one-size-fits-all plan. Your needs depend on the event and your individual requirements.

Because the training is only part of the preparation. 🩵

You're building a healthy life so you can LIVE it. Don't forget that part 💌 by @peakbalance_

thoughts from this weekend 🏔️🇨🇭

still processing this one.

50K. 3,200m. 10 hours on my feet.

and somehow, I did the thing I wasn't sure I could do. 🩵

what got me across that finish line:

- immeasurable amount of love, support & kind words 🩵

- maaaany mantras & quotes :
- "you can do hard things"
- "keep smiling"
- "one foot in front of the other"
- "I never lose. I either win or learn." Nelson Mandela

- a disgusting amount of carbs

- a pinch of insanity & delirium

Sometimes you have to do the hard & scary thing, to prove, only to yourself, that you're capable of so much more than you once believed.

holy crap... I actually have to run 50K in 6 days 🫠🫠
somehow we’ve gone from “i have 5 weeks to train for this” to… oh. it’s basically here.
taper week feels weird, but I’m trying to trust the work and remind myself that doing less is actually part of the training.
6 days 🩵⛰️

the mountains were calling all summer, so the gym took a bit of a back seat👀
now i'm back, feeling very excited to build some strength back up and prepare for the next season of adventures 🍂
let's see what we've got 💪🏽

With around 1.5 weeks to go until my first 50K, I'm focusing less on doing more and more on getting the basics right.
Enough food. Practising fuelling. Hydration. Recovery. Trusting the work I've already put in.
Just trying to arrive at that start line strong, energised and ready to take on the mountains. 🏔️

What would you add to the list?
