Thank you to Columbia Business School Dean Costis Maglaras, CBS President and our CBS alumni community for personally inviting the Columbia Alumni Association of DFW board—and for the thoughtful gift! 🦁💙

An insightful evening on CBS’s achievements and vision for the future:

🔹 AI as a central priority: Integrating AI into teaching, research, and school operations, with investments in faculty, programs, and hands-on learning.

🔹 Deeper NYC ties: Strengthening connections with startups, investors, and industry—with a vision for Columbia to be to NYC what Stanford is to Silicon Valley.

🔹 Entrepreneurial momentum: 26 alumni-built unicorns—fourth among MBA programs, behind only Stanford, Wharton, and Harvard—plus threefold growth in student startups since 2019 and $750,000 awarded annually to founders.

🔹 Evolving career paths: Expanding opportunities in technology and entrepreneurship while building on CBS’s strengths in finance and consulting.

🔹 Greater visibility and global impact: Amplifying faculty thought leadership and connecting alumni worldwide through shared expertise, mentorship, and lifelong learning. taken in Thompson Dallas by @pedramradfar90

Fresh off Columbia Professor Michael Woodford’s Nobel Prize in Economics, we celebrated another successful Columbia DFW Speaker Series on AI, macroeconomic trends, and decision-making! 🦁💙

The evening was highly interactive, with attendees asking thoughtful questions about AI infrastructure, emerging AI trends, and the broader economic outlook.

Thank you to our speaker, Asif Haider; our moderator and President, @inasturlis; and Haynes & Boone for hosting us. Thanks to fellow Columbia alumni (Law & GSAS) for making this possible and our alumni and broader DFW community for joining us.

Florida came in the underdog and left with a 52–28 win over Ole Miss. 🐊

Thanks to @anthonyfloresk and the University of Florida Alumni Association. In the South, college football is tradition. SEC football is religion.

Fourteen years later, just a 36-year-old Jersey boy turned Texas resident, finding his way back to the towering trees, timeless beauty, and academic grandeur of UNC, Duke, and Wake Forest. Earlier this summer; in May and again in early August, the Harvard Club of Dallas hosted two insightful, intimate discussions.

A fireside chat with Harvard instructor Dr. Eugene B. Kogan and KPMG senior partner Jarrod Bassman explored leadership, sound judgment, and decision-making in high-stakes situations. Reimagining the Heart of Dallas, featuring Dallas City Council members Paul Ridley and Kathy Stewart, examined the challenges and opportunities of keeping City Hall downtown and what its future could mean for development, accessibility, and Dallas’s civic identity.

No matter what happens in life, one thing nobody can ever take away from you is your education. The knowledge, discipline, sacrifice, and growth you gain stay with you forever.

May 13, 2012 — graduating with distinction from one of the top political science programs in the country at one of America’s best universities, @uncchapelhill. One of the hardest, yet most rewarding experiences of my life. A reminder that investing in yourself is something that always pays dividends.
