We need to stop apologizing! It’s amazing how much control you have over your own narrative by adjusting your mindset and how you treat yourself. This doesn’t mean avoiding responsibility or refusing to apologize when needed! Apologizing when something is wrong is a sign of strength, however, excessively apologizing can be seen as a weakness that can undermine your authority, negatively impacting both your professional and personal relationships. The “Let Them” theory was a wake-up call for me.No matter how much work you do on yourself, life will test you. Sometimes you’ll pass, sometimes you won’t, but the win is always how you get back up.Recently, I spent way too much time worrying about other people’s opinions that I started doubting myself and undoing all the progress I worked so hard on. Then I remembered:Let Them. And Let Me. When you say Let Them, you choose not to let other people’s behavior control your peace. When you say Let Me, you take responsibility for what you do next.When you move in a way that makes you proud, other people’s opinions stop mattering. People will talk. People will be mad. Someone will always be disappointed by your choices. Focus on not disappointing yourself.
