Zumthor’s new LACMA addition looks bulky from the outside, but its approach to exhibition and circulation is revolutionary. The galleries allow free circulation, while the curatorial approach creates unexpected links between objects from different cultures and periods. There is no need to mention his mastery of materials or his ability to evoke emotional responses through his architecture. Together with the nearby Renzo Piano buildings, there could have been a joyful LACMA museum quarter in between. Unfortunately, public spaces in the US are generally underdeveloped. taken in LACMA Los Angeles County Museum of Art by @pelinalkan__

so many things could be applauded, and so many could be criticized-all of it adds to the experience. as peggy guggenheim called it, her uncle's garage; it is still relevant, still compelling to be in. taken in Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum by @pelinalkan__

This semester, my Exhibition Design course focused on the Ancient Americas collection at the Mint Museum @themintmuseum. After completing my thesis on an Anatolian Neolithic artifact, exploring Mesoamerica in the context of the United States was an exciting new journey for me. My wonderful students, Karlene Dahlman and Zach Robinson, did an impressive job with their research and exhibit design for their selected artifacts. The museum will soon feature all the students' work in an online exhibition. taken in UNC Charlotte by @pelinalkan__
