We spoke with @arabbitsfoot about our collaborative practice, meeting on an e-commerce photo shoot for Lip Service in 2012, why we feel oddly protective of Erika Tracy, and how reality competition TV shows prepared us to work on I Want Your S*x. Thank you to Katie Driscoll for letting us unpack the uncanny pleasure of watching our work become Erika Tracy’s fictional art practice. As an art critic would say, we think her work has legs. We’re grateful to the film’s art department for inviting us into Erika’s world, especially Shelby Drabman (@putitinthepizza), who introduced Gregg Araki to our work, and Angelique Clark (@halfieangelique), who helped preserve the logic, humor, and specificity of our work as it moved through the production design process. taken in Los Angeles, California by @pelvic_steam

Meghan can't come to the phone right now because she has a baby on her hip and it's not mine. Or hers. But making art does feel a lot like giving birth. Our collaborative practice is a labor of love, which is still labor. We believe in repetition which is technically a form of reproduction. Should we join the Screen Actors Guild? I've personally always liked the idea of collective bargaining but I guess that doesn't apply to contemporary art.
