This month’s Groove Tracker Night is notable for a few reasons. First of all, we’re getting an earlier start: you can now join us for vinyl mildness-into-madness at @pianosnyc starting at 8 pm! Turn up early and catch happy hour at the bar; show up late and dance with the midweek maniacs. There is no way to mess this up.

This month our guests are (@apt9recordings), for da culture since 2016. This creative collective outta Uptown NYC does it all — spins vinyl, drops tracks, designs clothes, throws parties, interior/exterior painting; you name it. Tonight’s talent includes founders Johnny Panga and Josh Pendergrass (@pend8484) along with label stalwart Alenaudio (@alenaudio) - all familiar names to Groove Trackers/WKCR listeners. Expect the three B’s: booze, bangers … and Bamoozie? (IYKYK) by @pend8484

Beast River Records welcomes NYC-based artist Joshua Tree aka @pend8484 with a stunning debut: two deep, hypnotic cuts that showcase his signature groove and modern sound design.

“Soul Esscence” and “Sunyata” are both slow-burning, immersive journeys yet never losing momentum or direction. Lush pads weave in and out, anchored by meticulous drum programming and basslines that keep the groove locked. It’s deep house that pulls you in and doesn’t let go.

The release also features a remix of “Sunyata” by label head @brunobar79, who offers a more classic approach with jazzy Rhodes and a fresh reinterpretation of the vocals — warm, soulful, and dancefloor-ready.

BEASTR008 released on April 4, 2025

All tracks produced and mixed by Josh Pendergrass.
Sunyata remixed by Bruno Bar
Mastering by Manuel Sahagún taken in Brooklyn, New York by @pend8484
